Q

I have one of these but lost the instructions and can't seem to figure it out. can anyone post a photo or send me an email?

A
  • Have a chat with your local Google and he'll show you all kinds of video's or sites committed to explaining how to work the unit. Sometimes getting a good book on your specific camera will explain how an intervalometer can be used.

How can I use this one to let D90 take one picture every 250ms?

I've played with this device using 2 Nikons and it appears to do everything I expected it to do. I have yet to try long term time lapse but my intent was for some short term time lapse, such as over several hours. I have used it to trigger other devices, such as wireless flash and/or camera triggers and that could be a possibility in the future, but for now it does what I wanted it to do. I know a lot of people mentioned the need for an off switch, which this does not have. I will see if sitting around for some time without being used will drain the batteries.

I've been using this Voltrox Intervalometer for some time now. I use it for my night photography timelapses and it works like a charm. I haven't found an intervalometer anywhere else that can beat this price and it performs just as described. This product allows you to set how long the shutter is open for, the delay in between taking photos, and the number of photos that you want it to take. Without it, I wouldn't be able to take star timelapses, so for that I'm extremely grateful. I highly recommend getting yourself one of these. It poses a great tool for beginners and/or intermediate to advanced photographers.

Comes with a coiled removable cable with a 90 degree bend on the end that connects to the intervalometer, useful if the camera connector breaks though the version I got seems robust. Doesn't have an on/off switch so the batteries have to be removed if the remote won't be used for a long time. Works in Aperture, Shutter priority and Manual modes. Works as a shutter release when the batteries are out. You don't need to have batteries in to trigger the camera shutter in order to avoid blurry shots. I did get tripped up since I had my camera set to have AutoExposure locked when the shutter was half pressed. This prevented the camera from changing the aperture settings in Shutter priority mode so my shots were overexposed as the light got brighter.

Cela fonctionne aussi bien que des modèles plus cher. C'est juste un peu moins convivial au niveau de l'ecran. Le câble est indépendant je m en sert aussi avec un déclencheur radio cela évite de multiplier les câble enroulé dans le sac.

This product works as advertised. Only issue is the battery holders, seems like bad engineering for that part, but it works.

Works great! Seems a little bit too plastic and weak. Something is loose on the inside and it sounds

Great, super helpful. One thing to note is that if you're taking fast speed pictures through the camera, set the duration to 0, otherwise it may take pictures in bursts. Not an issue with the product, me being dumb

This works exactly as expected - absolutely necessary if you're planning to do timelapse photography. You could use the 'on-board' timelapse function on your Nikon 5100, but you'd be limited to 999 pictures; this unit will trigger indefinitely. FYI - I got this from a seller in China, so it took a few weeks to arrive (literally a slow boat from China), but I wasn't in a hurry considering it cost about 20% what Nikon charges for a unit that looks nearly identical and has same function.

This was a great timer for time lapse etc. Had a very solid, metal/glass feel to it. Unfortunately one drip onto a tile floor was all it took to take it out of the game. Cant fault it for that as it certainly wasn't intended to be abused. Having had several in the past before it and one since it it did seem a bit less than the others as far as toughness and longevity. Still a good product.

I wish the LED box would light up. When using at night to take timelapse astrophotography I need a light to set it and check on it. Other than that it worked fine on my Nikon D3300 to take multiple shots per my settings. Also the battery never shuts off so that is another annoying feature. So if you don't want the battery to die then you need to take it out. Other than that it does what it is supposed to do.
