The head should take the v3 plate because it’s square but the heads plate will probably not latch to the peak design.

About 15 - 20 pounds. It is very sturdy. Also, suggest a drop or two of 3 in 1 oil for all moving parts. I like it because it flips from horizontal to vertical.

The arm is permanently attached, that is, it's not threaded for removal or replacement. However, I needed to shorten mine for mounting the head on a "skateboard" dolly, and I cut it off with a hacksaw. My daughter accidentally snapped the old head of the SLIK tripod we had for years. Given the cost of total replacement I took a chance on this replacement and I am glad I did. This is all metal (vs original plastic) and is smooth at silk when panning and pivoting the head. Great investment!
