Questions & Answers
No, Ray, this ring flash will not support Canon E-TTL wireless. It has no infrared receiver and is not designed to be used off camera. The only way I can think of to use it wirelessly would be to use with separate wireless flash trigger (transmitter and receiver) such as Pixel King Pro or Yongnuo YN-622C.

Although your camera model has not been shown, I would be very surprised if the Miike ring flash unit did not work with your Pentax, if it is an SLR it will be just fine. I have used my ring flash on my Nikon 810 and 750 and the results are excellent. RFC7 see less

It works on both my 70D and T2i so I would assume the answer is yes, but I'm having misgivings about this unit lately; it's become somewhat glitchy after only a year of use...eats batteries up pretty quickly too....

Don't buy it. It is a junk. The ring tube is leaking black stuff. Not worthy to try.

I haven't used mine in that mode yet, only macro.

yes very well

not sure but I believe the SL1 has the same hotshoe as the canon 60D

Comes with large assortment of adapter rings. Shouldn't be an issue

It depends on your filter size. It will only mount on lenses up to 77mm. 58,72 & 77mm are only three lenses mount it works with.

This is not a speedlite. It is a normal ring light in that, it has a head unit that fits into the hot shoe for controls and the ring light that mounts to the lens is wired to the unit on the hot shoe.

I've used this flash several times now, with excellent results. It's easy to use and has performed flawlessly so far. It seems well made and rugged, but only time will tell. The price was attractive (I couldn't justify $500 for the Canon model) and I love to take macro close-ups of insects and flowers. I'd always wanted to try a ring-flash, and I'm glad I got this one.

I have tried the cheaper ring flashes (not LEDs) but they are quite weak. For only a bit more money this flash is capable of illuminating darkness from 15 feet away at f5.6 iso100! BONUS: has a light on the front to aid in focusing and composition! Integrates perfectly with the ETTL of my Canon 60D, perfect shots every time, easy to dial in adjustments on the flash. Flexible but not overly complicated. EDIT: this puppy will obstruct wide angle lenses, the 17-55mm EF-s is "vignetted" at widest setting, must zoom to about 35mm for corners to expose. For the price this is no issue, all you are trading is wide angle for a flash that does what $500 flashes do from canon.

It works great. It has more power than Canon. Adaptor was very loose. I used a heavy rubber band in the slot to create some grip. Color rendition and other electronic communication with camera was OK. Automatic sleeping feature to save battery is great. Good quality for the price you pay.

Brilliant! Way brighter than the ring lights with individual LED lights. I shoot with a Canon 70D, and my buddy shoots Nikon; we both found the TTL seems to consistently underexpose by 2 stops. Easy enough to adjust on the controller, and once we figured that out it's just perfect!

I bought this with 2 uses in mind: macro photography and model photography. It works almost identically like the canon 14 GN ring flash. You can control the relative power of each half. It has a manual mode, TTL works great, and also allows you to set an audible beep when the flash recharges (sometimes useful, sometimes a hindrance.) For close photography of people, it gives a beautiful wrap around look to people, so I've already found good flattering uses for it. This was a great buy and I've already recommended it to 2 other people who also love it. Easily justified 5 star product.

This flash is well-built and pretty strong for the price. I've used it for engagement shoots (it's great for atmospheric shots of the ring) and some portraiture. I would definitely like to use is a bit more before reviewing, but I wanted to point out an issue that might really bother some users--the flash rotates freely on the lens adapter ring. It might only be 15 degrees off at the worst, but it looks extremely sloppy in front of clients and is honestly a bit of a pain because you end up holding the flash while taking photos. For that, I can't give it 5 stars, but for the build quality and price, I'm more than comfortable with a quality review. I'm going out to get super glue today to attempt to create small stopping blocks inside my adapter rings to prevent rotation. I'll update this review to report on any success I might have with that as well as to recap on quality issues/accolades.

I was a little concerned considering the price, but this flash is well built and really worth it. I use it on my Canon 6D and a 100MM F2 Macro lens and it fits perfectly. There is some cost cutting, but overall its a good build and workable flash. if you don't have the money for the Canon Ring Flash, the Meike is a good 2nd selection. It copies lots of Canon features so while the manual is short, you can download the Canon Ring Flash manual and almost all features are the same. I would recommend this flash.

If your looking for an inexpensive (not cheap) professional TTL macro flash ring, look no further. For all intense and purpose this is just like the Canon flash ring only much much less expensive. The quality of the Meike MK-14EXT flash ring is superb. I was hesitant in making this purchase because it was coming from China. But it shipped through USPS and got it in 6 working days. It arrived in perfect condition with all the parts well packaged. The first half of the manual was in Chinese and the the last half was English albeit in small print. I went to the usa.canon.com support website, found their MR-14EXT flash ring, and downloaded the manual. It was in .pdf format and sure enough it looked almost identical. Although, Canon's manual was much better and I was able to understand all of the functions of the flash ring. One other thing is that the Meike flash ring came with lens ring adapters for all Canon lenses. So yes, you can use the flash ring on any lens which you cannot do with the Canon flash ring. I'm not worried about warranties or breaking the flash ring either. For this price, I can buy three of these flash rings and still come out way ahead.
