Can I use the switch to control my pool pump? Currently, I have a conventional switch in a control panel box just outside, within range of my WiFi.

  • Yes (By "conventional" I assume you mean something like a regular light switch. Nothing that requires higher amperage.)

I wished I'd read all the reviews here before buying so I knew that it does NOT work with multiple gang boxes/switches. It makes zero sense to me why Koogeek did not build this around an existing standard to fit a standard electrical box. It's proprietary arrangement that adapts to a single-gang box. I've included photos of how I adopted it to work in double gang box, but it's so hack. I trimmed the top and bottom mounting flanges off the switch and then clearanced the hole in the decorator switch plate so the koogeek switch face would fit. A small hole was drilled in the switch plate to access the reset button. Then the front section of the switch was removed and epoxied it the switch plate. The back section with the pigtails was wired into the box. The switch plate / switch front combination was then snapped back into the switch back section, and then mounted to the box. The switch was simple to set up with HomeKit and works as advertised, but I think the proprietary mounting arrangement is complete nonsense.

I got this because I recently got an iPhone, and Apple TV. This is the first smart switch I have purchased. It seemed pretty easy to install (must have a neutral wire). And I put it in my living room where I usually spend all my time. There's no hub required, just need a wifi connection. You can use Siri voice controls from your iPhone. Or you can use the Koogeek home app for free. I didn't have a problem with the switch at all. You can monitor the lights from your home thru the Koogeek home app as well. It's nice to control your lights when you are running late, or on vacation. So far I am very impressed with this product. And plan to buy more in the future.

It is packaged in a simple white box, it looks nice, and all contents inside came undamaged, so I would consider the packaging satisfactory. SETUP : Setup was very easy. It installs just like a regular light switch. After getting all the wires plugged in, it was as simple as downloading the Koogeek app (IOS only) and searching for a device, you have to be on a 2.4 Ghz WiFi network, because that's how it connects. Once you have found it, you just put in the code that comes with the product, and BAM, you have control over your light switch via your phone. FUNCTIONALITY : This functions as well as any other regular light switch, and feels sturdy enough, along with the added functionality of remotely controlling, which works really well. OVERALL : Overall, if you are looking to be able to remotely control lights in your house, I would definitely recommend this. It was easy to install and get running, and works well.

Love this new light switch!! I wanted one where I was able to remotely turn it on/off from my driveway so we don't trip over anything in the garage when walking through. I can use my iPhone 7 Plus and via the Apple Home app it allows it to be my remote, along with my Apple Watch and Siri. Looked through some Koogeek support online information and found that the latest Apple software has its own Home app that allows you to add accessories that are on the same network, such as this switch. Works like a charm! Now my kids won't trip over anything between the garage door and the house entrance. :) Gotta get my Apple TV configured too. That will be next. I would like to see this work remotely too. 5 stars and really happy I decided to make "the switch" and purchase this. :)

This wasn't as easy to program like I thought it would be. My daughter has the iPhone and the Apple Watch and it took a few times to get it to connect, but it kept dropping connection. Not sure why that happened. We tried to use my granddaughters iPhone 7 to try and , it connected, but once again it dropped the connection. We are gonna keep it bcuz it's a cool gadget. We just have to be patient with setting it up. Lol. I live talking to Siri on any device, so that's a plus with this being voice activated. I would recommend this purchase to everyone!! It's not like the switch plate is overly big and out of place.

Those HomeKit compatible switches work as advertised. Adding the switches to the Home app was easy, and the remote access feature works. I did not even bother to install the Koogeek app. I have compared these switches made by iDevices and Lutron. The iDevices switches are great, fit a standard wallplate, and work as advertised. The Lutron switches require a hub- no thank you. The Koogeek are less than 1/2 the price of the iDevice switch. Installation of thr Koogeek switch was easy- the problem arose when I tried to put the switch in a 3 gang arrangement. Thr switch is a non standard size, and is deeper than a typical switch. I had to purchase an extra deep wall plate cover from Kyle Switch plates. Even with that-the switches do not fit in the standard opening. I installed one of the switches in my garage, which was a 1 gang installation. The included faceplate worked well here. Summary: great price option compared to iDevices switch, my gold standard, and for 1 gang installation. Proceed with caution on multiple gang installations.

I was looking for a way to automate the lights in my office without having to buy expensive smart bulbs. This method was ideal. I had to shut the power down in my house (so I didn't get electrocuted.) Then it was fairly easy to install this light switch to replace my old light switch. I then turned the power back on to my house. I installed the Koogeek app for it to find the light switch. From there, I could then turn on and off the lights in my office through the app. You don't need to use the Koogeek app from that point on; it works on the Apple homekit app and works with Siri as well. Great solution for my needs.

I really like this switch. First the included app does some of the home app's jobs like setting scenes. But the app also tracks power usage over time (and real time), I removed a bulb from the fixture in the room and the wattage being used dropped accordingly. The home app also enables Siri control (see video) and an iPad or Apple TV left at home as a hub provides support for remote access to the switch from anywhere with internet and setting up automations like having the light turn off when you leave the house or on when you return.

I love reading or watching a few Youtube videos or movies before going to bed and one of the thing I hated the most was I could never fall asleep because I would always have to get up to turn off the light everytimes. By the time I got back on bed. I wasn't able to fall back to sleep. With this smart switch now I can easily turn off the light with just a click and a voice on my iPad. So convinient!! With this I am no longer have to walk in my room dark at night. Light can be turned on before I walked in. I love this product. Made my life much easier. Very easily installed. Instructions can easily be followed. Nice packaging too. Overall I would recommend this to everyone or anyone that has the same struggles. :)

This smart switch does exactly what I hoped it would. It is my third Koogeek smart item, and I have to say, they've done it pretty well. The app is simple and streamlined, easy to understand and follow directions, and works smoothly. Their paper instructions have good English and great directions. The product itself works well and feels like it's the high quality that it is. I had this switch installed in less than 10 minutes since I already had the app on my phone and set up. Setting up any automations is a matter of 5-10 more minutes, depending on the complexity. Overall, a really great product that is much cheaper than the alternative.

This is an excellent switch that works great with my iphone and newer ipad air. I set this switch up at my buddys places as he is automating his house. Even with old wiring and some kind of connection he uses to get rhe old wiring connect ro some adapter thing which then in turns helps old wiring work with automation. I would recommend this switch specially in moddrn houses with new wiring as it is wirking great since past 3 days now with no problem and with homepod coming this will hopefully work with it as well.

This smart switch is really cool. It's easy installation just please turn off the circuit breaker first before doing the electrical. It's 100-120v ac alternating currenT and has 3 wires. I'd suggest to take a picture of your old switch internals before installing this one for reference. You must be on wifi for this to work and download the Koogeek app. I can use it to control multiple different koogeek devices and they work great. Perfect for anyone wanting to create a smart house. I can have the lights turn on in the driveway before walking into the house. A big plus for me.

It was super easy to install, once I figured out the wiring differences between this switch and my previous setup. My old switch was wired in using two black wires (live) connected at the same power feed, one red wire (load), and the copper ground wire. I had two white (neutral) wires capped with a wire nut and tucked away in the back. My photos show the old switch connected, and the new switch with wires attached. I've also included a photo of the wiring diagram. So I connected white to white, black to black, and red to red. Since 2 of my wire bundles consisted of 3 wires (3 black and 3 white) the wire nuts provided with the assembly were just a tad too small. So I picked up some larger wire nuts from the hardware store. The copper ground wire is not used, so I tucked that away in the back of the box.I am very pleased with the product, and I intend to purchase additional switches in the future.

This new smart light switch is amazing! I have tried the bulb socket from Koogeek in the past and it worked great. So when I decided it was time to try a smart switch to control more lights instead of installing single sockets for each bulbs I made the move and got this one from Koogeek. Once connected it is very easy to use via the Apple Home app and you can use Siri to turn on/off lights in the room you have placed the switch. Very convenient if you went to bed and forgot to turn off the light in a room. Now you can also do this while away from home but you would need an Apple TV set up to be able to control smart devices when you are gone.

I wanted smart lights around my house for convenience but didn’t want to rely on the individual lightbulbs as it doesn’t seem well integrated and kind of ruins the point of a light switch so for that I got a more permanent solution such as this light switch. Installation was relatively simple if you know your way with electronic switches. I had to push in the switch by force as this had its components sticking out in the back and the wires were also in the way. The switch, after installed, looks perfectly normal. no issues. It makes home lighting feel more innovative and futuristic. Overall it works pretty well. I use this as a safeguard to make sure all the lights in my house are turned off after leaving as I am capable of doing so and to use this to illuminate my house as I do come home every day late at night and everything is usually pitch dark.

Works as expected, but I have 1 suggestion: it seems it would be easy enough to make it shaped/sized to fit standard decora wall plates rather than *just* the single plate that comes with it. The included plate works fine if you're replacing a single switch with a 1 switch wallplate, but if you're replacing one that is next to other switches, there is no easy way to cover all the switches with a single plate, since this one is a tiny bit larger than the normal rectangular rocker switch size. The only other things to be aware of (which are well documented), is to make sure you have a live and neutral wire (needed to power the switch when it's "turned off" so the wifi still works), and that it only works with single switches (not multi-way switches where you have multiple switches controlling 1 light). Overall, I am quite happy with it, I just wish I could buy a wallplate that would cover it and the switches next to it correctly

I just got this today and installed it. So this is just my initial reaction. I bought the two-switch version with some coupon offer bringing the final price to about $35. At $17.50 a switch, that's a good price for HomeKit switches. Overall, installing and setting up on HomeKit was as straightforward as you would expect with any HomeKit device. There are a few quirks, however, which is why I'm knocking off one star. 1. As many others have pointed out, this switch is not designed to fit in with other switches in a multi-gang electrical box. So buy this only if you want to use it in a single gang box. 2. Both switches of the two-switch unit have to be assigned to the same HomeKit room. In my installation, I wanted the two switches to be assigned to two different HomeKit rooms. That's not possible. 3. As are other HomeKit switches, this switch too is bulky from front to back. Fitting the switch in the electrical box requires more free space that normal mechanical switches. Unfortunately, this unit comes with connection wires hanging off the back, rather than traditional screw terminals. This may force you to have to add a few twist wire connectors in the box, further reducing the space you need to for shoving the switch in the box. Otherwise, it seems to work just fine.

I was thrilled to install this product and finally have my very first smart home product. It works with Apple Home Kit and can be controlled by using Siri. For now, it only works with Apple devices such as your iPhone, iPad, and even your Apple TV. There is an app that you download and use to control the light switch. The UI of the app is great and has the ability to control several different things. Most commonly it gives you the ability to control your light switch from where ever you are in the house, as long as you’re within range of your wifi network. I can now lay on the couch while watching a movie and turn on or off the light right from my iPhone.

The instructions were good and he had it wired up and operable in no time. It is a really cool smart switch and we had not used one quite like it before. My main reason for wanting to try it is for when we go on vacation. I love that I can control it from my smartphone or tablet and can randomly turn the light on and off, making it appear as if someone is at home. It is also very nice to be able to turn the light on when I get home and it is dark so that I am walking into a lit house. The app is user friendly and you can use siri on your iPhone. It is crazy how much technology can do these days! I am very pleased with this product and wouldn't hesitate to order from this company again!
