If this is for a 4 stroke machine, why are buyers reporting it reading half the true RPM, and half the true hours, did you ship a 2 stroke model? If

  • My suspicion is that being it comes from China, they make one version and advertise both ways. For the price there's not much incentive to return it!

I installed it correctly but it doesn't seem to be recording the hours correctly. One time it read 1.9, later it read 1.4, niether one was correct.

  • These tachometers are not full proof. I suggest you return it and get your money back or get it replaced. I have one that will not read RPM but it reads time ok.

Does the display automatically cycle between RPM and Hours? Can you set it to always display hours or always display RPM only?

  • First Question: NO when the motor is running it displays RPM, when the motor is off it displays Time. Second Question: it can not be adjusted.

What's the warranty on these? I just installed mine. 1 month after purchase; so they r not covered under the a-z anymore. 1 is doa the other improper

  • I think they have a one month warranty. I bought one.. It was DOA so they sent another. It worked but was so inaccurate I tossed it. Get a good Hobbs meter and put this bad item out of your memory.

If i have a two cylinder engine, does that mean i have to double the number in the readout to get the actual rpm's?

  • I wish I knew , in my experience with this item the rpm's seem to be about half of what they should be with my 2 cylinder outboard motor

  • You have provided no information as to how your product is functioning making it impossible to provide a reasonable answer. Without a description of how your system is functioning and any symptoms displayed a diagnosis cannot be provided.
