Questions & Answers

  • Q I live in The Netherlands. If I buy the product from the warehouse in Germany, do I have to pay import costs? And when is this product available again?

    By Geoff May 8, 2017

A Hi , Only available in our Chinese warehouse .

  • Q Will it work with the Sigma 18-35mm lens?

    By NICHOLAS.L November 4, 2016

A It is a list of Canon lenses tested by Apurture that are verified to work. Unfortunately at this time they are not listing any 3rd party lenses. However, another Tomtop customer claims his Tamron 17-55mm 2.8 works well. So in my opinion, (since tomtop product team has not tested this combination) I think the chance is good that the Sigma 18-35mm will work as desired

  • Q Does it work on a canon 6d?

By Lularoe Hubby October 25, 2016

A Sorry, It's not this model is for MFT cameras to be able to use Canon lenses. Thanks .

  • Q Does this work with Rokinon Cine Lens?

By John Atkins October 24, 2016

A Cine lenses by their nature are all manual. The DEC controller is all electronic and only works with lenses that electronic contacts and built in focus motor. To remotely control the focus and iris of a cine lens like the Rokinon, you need an external motor lens control system.

Q

Does this come with the built in ND's?

A
  • No that is the new version that was just recently released. Sounds sweet though!

Q

Problems getting sigma art lens on? It needs a ton of force and feels like it’s scraping as I try to lock it in. Problem?

A
  • This happens with my 24mm canon EF-S lens. However I’ve never noticed any damage to the build or quality of the adapter or lens and I’ve been using them since December of 2016.

Q

Anyone else having issues from the Sigma Art lenses? For whatever reason it won’t goninto the adapter?

A
  • I use a Sigma 18-35mm art lens and it works perfectly. Of all my lenses, the only one that doesn't work is the Canon 18-135mm STM.

Q

Does this also work for canon lenses on the G85?

A
  • I don't have the G85 but it should work on all micro four thirds cameras.

Q

Will this work on a gh4 in a came-tv cage? will it clear the cage or will i have to remove the cage?

A
  • Not sure. The adapter part sticks out about 1 cm below the gh4 bottom (without a battery grip) and the controller that sticks off the adapter could get in the way depending on how far out the cage extends past the lens mount. The controller does not extend past the camera-to-adapter mount, so you can base it off of that.

Q

Can this work with a 3-axis gimbal? Or does it use any plugins that a gimbal needs?

A
  • Not sure if this exactly answers our question but i use this just fine with my dji ronin m and i can’t imagine it getting in the way any other gimbal. It’s acts as a any regular lens adapter does and the focus puller is wireless so I switch out one of my handles with it if I don’t have an assist.

This is the prefect lightweight and budget-friendly option for pulling focus on smaller gimbal and stabilizer rigs. PROS: -Ultra smooth focus motion -Lightweight -Fast setup -Does EXACTLY what it it supposed to do! -Decent battery life CONS: -NOT a smart adapter (you cannot adjust aperture from camera controls, even if off) -form factor can be tricky with different mounting plates (the kit DOES come with a height offset piece, but it isn't too sturdy and even less so as the lens gets heavier)

Love this FF. Works on all of my Canon glass. Quick and smooth focus. I use it mostly on my Beholder DS1 and Sony A7sii so I can both focus and change aperture without touching the camera. Something that would be almost impossible before. Also will use it on my jib.

Works great with my A7S the only thing id have to say I don't like ALOT is that due to the adaptor size you can mount it directly to a tripod without using their adaptor to compensate for the space. But over all a great follow focus and adaptor at the same time for the price of an adaptor alone.Would Definately recommend to others.
