Q

Has anyone had trouble with librepilot not recognizing this and x9d transmitter input? i can't get librepilot 2 recognize the x9d with this receiver.

A
  • I use it with the Taranis with no problems. You need to jumper the 3 and 4 pins on the RX and set the radio to mode D8 and bind....I've left out a few details however lots of vids on YouTube

Q

does this set up with a cc3d FC with only three wires bus?

A
  • I'm sorry I couldn't tell you about cc3d I have only flown APM, Naze and multiwii. I use cppm on the APM and Naze but I'm sure you can set it up. Check this info http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2350790

Q

Does it have 8 channels with a taranis x9dplus? i know ppm, i just bought a taranis does it have ppm?

A
  • It does have 8 on PPM, however using 7 and 8 you can have overlap problem or narrow band issues. It's safest to only use up to 6.

Q

Is it really 6inches long? I don't see how this will fit in a 250 Quad.

A
  • Maybe 6 inches including the wires. This is one of the smaller receivers, I have several on 250 class and smaller quads.

I got this to get some simple telemetry from my Cleanflight / NAZE32 clone. I use it in CPPM mode, it will execute 8 channels and it works fine. Binding is easy and it works. The telemetry is mainly because RSSI works very well, and some serial telemetry technologies on the NAZE32 board are working, and some are out of reach. In particular, the battery voltage is on, which is the battery voltage that I really want telemetry in the radio. For some reason, the heading and altitude sometimes work, and other times it does not work. I do not know where the problem is, so I did not eliminate any stars (probably NAZE, Cleanflight, D4R, Transmitter module or my TH-9x, or Smartyparts telemetry template or OpenTX software)).

If you use the supplied jumper to mount the signal pins for channels 3 and 4, you will get the 8 channel output. For all 8 channels, your ppm will be channel 1. Be sure to program your internal RF from Taranis to D8. It also provides telemetry.

Like the built-in PPM mode, the ideal receiver for small multipurpose helicopters, I am impressed by the amount of telemetry information you can receive. Highly recommended.

I bought this Rx exclusively for FRSKY TARANIS X9D + 16CH DIGITAL TELEMETRY TX - MODE 2 (US CHARGER). I like the CPPM function, which allows me to monitor many of the parameters and functions of my FPV drone.

I used the d8r-II Plus before, and it's a giant compared to someone who has roughly the same function. Another great FrSky product.

This and X4R are the best receivers you can buy at this price. Put your hand down. The FrSky 2.4Ghz system is very stable. I have no problems even in noisy environments.

Has really good range as well as telemetry feedback. I've paired this with a home-made FBVS-01 circuit to bring back battery voltage. For the price these work really well, I just wish I could afford to put one in every Flite Test plane I have

Pretty expensive on Tomtop compared to other hobby sites but the unit itself is a great all purpose receiver for a DJT FrSky transmitter.
