It is a hard plastic. I have used mine for about 1 months now and have not seen any break-down of the material. I keep them beside my recliner in the living room, so I can watch birds at the feeder. They are very light weight and crystal clear. I really like them.

I got these binoculars because I was looking for something that would work well while hiking or camping. On receiving the item I saw that it was a pretty well-built binoculars and the design look pretty cool and it had a nice grip to it. You can see a pretty good distance through it as mentioned in the description. However there is one issue, when you're looking through it normally is there is as if some spot blocking your view I don't know why this is.I can see clearly if I close one of my eye and just look through the other eye. Also if I cover one of the outlets of the binoculars I can see clearly but when I try to view through it just regularly with both my eyes open there is some disturbances in the visual. It's not such a big problem you can still see through it decently but it's slightly annoying. Other than that I have no issues with his binoculars and if you're looking for a cheaper binoculars this will do.

These binoculars are a good pair that assists with seeing far distances. I really like the grip feature that it has. It comes with a lanyard to put the binoculars around your neck and comes with a case and lense cleaner. I don't see much of a negative thing about these binoculars. When looking through the lenses, the view is crisp and they feel durable, so I'm not worried about dropping them. Overall a great purchase!
