MOOER MICRO PREAMP series pedals are sonically accurate digital recreations of the preamp sections of popular tube amplifiers. We have developed these by directly analyzing real tube amplifiers and using a brand new technology(Inteligent Amplifier Modeling) to capture their sounds, dynamics and response. Each MICRO PREAMP pedal comes completely with dual channels, integrated speaker cabinet simulation and dual operating modes to suit the needs of all users.

    First of all, these preamps are a killer deal. You basically get a detailed simulation of an iconic amplifier. I should have researched more carefully, because the Mesa-Boogie sound that the Cali-Dual is emulating is much too high-gain for my purposes. I would recommend 002 or 006 for any beginner guitarist looking for a one-size-fits-most preamp. I also like that I can use this preamp straight into my Roland Cube Monitors in addition to virtually any amplifier or speaker system. The downsides are that the pedal gets hot pretty quickly when in use. I'm not sure how it would hold up to heavy use. Also, the CAB simulation feature is IMO useless and cumbersome. It doesn't come with any power supply and doesn't take 9V batteries. This is common with small pedals like this, I have found out, but I was expecting to be able to use it straight out of the box but that was not the case. 8/10 I would only discourage purchase if you want to record through it or if you need to rely on it for heavy use in a live setting or God forbid on the road.
