I don’t know why this has thickness and sheerness for the questions. The thickness is not very and sheerness is not sheer. But this is a great product and works excellent. I used it on my kayak when I just got out to paddle around. It keeps most of the Texas sun off you. But I did knock it lose a few times while paddling. It didn’t make much difference with wind other than a couple of instances but overall a great product!!!!

These really protect from sun. Two things to note: on our various sized kayaks we did not need the additional kit because all the boats had either holes we popped the poles into or places already set for them. Set up two two minutes including drinking a cold La Croix. Also you turn turn them around so you get more shade in back or front. They survive winds.

I came back to give this 5 stars. I removed the bottom two poles, repurposed one for the rear rigging. Used paracord in back with carabiners. spray painted fabric to subdue for region. Was out today in steady, heavy rain for 3 hours. Stayed pretty much dry. If you want to be on kayak in rain for a morning, this with spraypaint will work. I think the fabric is not very permeable on it’s own.

Just received my mesh canopy today and installed on my kayak. Was sad to see that the canopy doesn’t have an end cap to allow it to canopy to pull against it. See in the pics that the only way to keep the top snug is to use the one bungee cord provided. In order to get it close to the end you have to pull it tint and this causes the canopy to move lower, this decreasing the head height. I have orders some Velcro cable ties and I think this will be the quick fix. Good note: Does provide nice shade and the canopy poles fit in my pole holders with my fishing rods and didn’t come out when I was moving my rods around.

Okay the cover itself was fine it's going to work out perfectly, however not supplying mounting hardware for the metal for the aluminum frame for anyone else who doesn't have the problem solving skills that I have this wood stump them greatly. I was able to install wood two by four blocks inside the boat itself using adhesive to the bottom of the inside of the hall and a large Fender washer drilled out at 1/2 inch on the top to secure the wood block on the exterior of my kayak then sleeving half inch OD and 5/16 ID or inside Dimension to receive your quarter inch shade cover tubing what's how I solve my problem without adding inside the boat itself using adhesive to the bottom of the inside of the hole and a large fender washer drilled out at 1/2 inch on the top to secure the wood block on the exterior of my kayak then leaving half-inch OD and 5/16 ID or inside dimension to receive your quarter inch shade cover tubing was how I saw my problem without adding more than a half a pound of added weight.

I was so excited when my husband bought this little canopy. I couldn't wait to use it. I'm extremely fair-skinned and burn just by thinking about the sun. I set it up, got mid-way out on the lake, the wind picked up and scared me half to death because it almost helped to flip the kayak! The water is about 50 degrees where I was kayaking, so not water I wanted to go swimming in! I tried again another day another lake and unfortunately ran into the same issue. I was however able to enjoy it for about 20 minutes before the wind attacked that time! It's too bad. It is a great concept and I don't think it has anything to do with the way it is made, it is all about my environment. Too windy where I live. So, if you live on a nice placid lake where there is no wind - I'm sure it would be awesome. I only am giving 3 stars because it didn't work for me, but again, given a better environment it would get all 5 stars!

I am 5ft 9" tall, and own 3 of the Lifetime Teton Angler Kayak's. I purchased the orange shade and it looked really nice with the kayak I purchased and matches its orange accessories. The biggest disappointment is is it is simply too short for me with my current kayak. I tried raising the rear poles in the rear fishing rod holders with putting a couple rag pieces in each, which I would not advise, as with little bit of a breeze, it snapped off, and hit me in the face. My kids thought it was hilarious, me not so much... It might be great for a different model of kayak, but with mine it simply won't work, unless there can somehow be an extension or new support poles ordered for this. I will say set up and removal is very quick and stores in a provided bag and seems like good quality.

Kayak canopy was great! Fairly simple to put together, and comes with a nice storage bag when not in use. Mounted on the kayak very easy and provided my nephew with good shade on our first paddle trip on the Guadalupe River outside of Seguin, TX. He did have a difficult time paddling against the wind with the canopy up. We had to take it down for a while. Overall it was a good buy and he was happy.
