So I'm a very honest reviewer, yet don't know much about modern baitcasters but so far this is a great value for the $40 it was. Didn't want to spend much and because I'm relearning baitcasting I figured why not, and I could see this as a great beginner reel, yet good looking and sleek. Honestly after this I can't wait to see what pricier reels feel like! I mainly got this for long casting ability from a lakefront harbor and portable fishing with a buddy and after 3 trips I definitely can hurl any lure a mile with this thing. The adjusting of the tension and brakes is easy, although I recommend studying up on you tube as well, and I've only bird nested maybe 1/15 casts... As a beginner.. Or relearner. I feel that's pretty damn good. I mean I guess I never really learned the first time, but now that I am, I can definitely highly recommend this reel for the price. I paired it with the Kastking Compass telescopic rod and I freaking love the whole setup. Haven't caught anything yet but I know it's coming soon.

Was super impressed with how smooth this reel casts. Went a full day with no birds nest. The braking system help control those long casts. Caught 4 fish and 2 of those were 3 pounders. The reel handled them real well. I would highly recommend this reel to any new or experienced angler.

Honestly a great reel for the price. I was sceptical but man it pulls through 10 fish yesterday all over 2 and a half pounds I pulled them all through crazy thick pad and this thing did it and kept working. Better than some 80 dollar reels I've bought. Makes some sounds when I cast but honestly it just sounds like it has a DC chip in it lol and it doesn't affect the casting at all. I can almost cast of all my 50 pound braid it casts so well.

I got a chance to test my reel right after I received it this morning. The gearing on this reel is extremely smooth. The retrieval is fast and casts very smoothly without any hesitation. It is also very sleek looking and fits on the pole and in your hands nicely all for an extremely fair price.
