You can wire a cable through the boom pole but you would need to take apart the xlr head and reattach it once through.

This is a good piece of kit, very very light. I’ve been using this with a Rode NTG 5 and standard holder. The Mic assembly seems heavier than the pole. I have used it with a little carbon grease (bicycle carbon grease I had for my bikes) and it’s very smooth. The locking rings feel solid too. Indoors or outdoors it’s now my go to boom pole.

I'm a film professional and I was super hesitant to buy a boom pole this cheap. I usually buy the higher end brands but decided to take a risk. I'm surprised that a carbon fiber boom was this cheap. Bottom line: I'm completely satisfied and will see how this holds up being battled tested. And I would buy this again instead of a carbon fiber boom that costs over 3x. I'm rarely impressed, but the risk was worthwhile.

Very well made. Was worried I'd spent £20 on useless tat but pleasantly surprised when a solid bit of EQ turned up! Used it with a camcorder and very happy. Will def need the included sandbags for a dslr full frame. Shipping took a while a box was pretty banged up when it arrived but contents were all fine inside.
