I've owned a few of these Hubsan X4 drones, as well as some other toy drones. The Hubsan X4 is small and tough. It's small - about a 6 inch square. It feels a little heavy for it's size, but it can handle many crashes. I use mine to torment the neighbor's German Shepherd. And before you crazy animal snowflakes get all mad - this dog LOVES the drone. It's like a ball, just 1000 times better. If you've never used a drone like this, there is a bit of a learning curve. Start indoors, fly close to the ground, and go slow. Don't go near walls or the ceiling, and use the propeller guard. To use this drone, you should also buy: TATTU 6pcs 3.7V 380mAh 1S LiPo Battery with Molex Plug and 6-Port Charger AFUNTA 5x COMBO Transparent Clear Blades Propellers Props Rotor Compatible Hubsan X4 Once you get good at flying the drone, ditch that prop guard and take it outside! Don't fly it more than 30 feet away from you or more than 20 feet up. Although the range is much more than that, it's small and you can't see it well enough to tell which direction it's going. Flying on windy days is tough, and for experts only. The hubsan X4 has an expert mode where you click (push the stick in, not up or down) the right joystick and the controller beeps twice to confirm you're in expert mode. The LED in the center of the controller will go from solid green to flashing green / red. The drone will have 2x the yaw. That means it tips twice as much forward, back, or to the side, meaning it's much faster and more responsive. It's also a lot harder to control. I usually don't use expert mode. Click again, and it will beep once and go back to normal mode. If you're a ninja drone pilot, expert mode will allow you to fly on windy days. The hubsan X4 can do flips, poorly. If you read through the manual, you can find the combination you need to do with the joysticks to do it, but honestly, this feature is worthless. Just pretend it doesn't do it. The camera on this drone is useless too. You can get some really grainy 720p footage that isn't useful for anything, but I guess it's kinda cool. Also, keep in mind, this is a cheap toy. Don't spend more than $40 on the drone. Extra propellers run about $8, and extra batteries are $19. It will stop working eventually. After the dog stomped on it many times, and several full speed crashes into a metal fence, I finally snapped the plastic body. No big deal, I just bought another drone.
