I just got into fishing and have quickly fallen in love with this thing. The only other rods/reels I've used have been older than myself so I don't know if that has something to do with it but I found this thing to be incredibly enjoyable to use. Being able to travel with it and break it down to where it'll fit under a car seat was definitely my favorite part of it compared to the other poles I've used that only break down into two 4+ foot sections. The only thing I would change if I could would be with the telescoping portion, I wish there was some internal guide so that the eyes would always line up on there own but its not a big deal to have to do it manually. Will be buying a second for my girlfriend in the future

Quality is good, I like the finish on the rod and its function. Reel seems very nice also. Case is a nice touch and is semi-firm so I would not hesitate transporting in a suitcase. I made a big mistake and ordered too long of a rod, my bad, thought part of the length was in the reel holder and butt. Another thing, the rating chart I feel was misleading. This rod is VERY stiff. I compare this to an old 7' Fenwick rod I had as a kid and used it for King Salmon fishing no problem. This rod is too stiff for fishing panfish. Best suited for heavier species: Salmon, larger Bass, etc. The line span and lure weight seems too light for the stiffness of this rod. This is what primarily mislead me. I will probably keep but was looking for a lighter action setup.

I bought this rod and reel combo for my husband. We go fishing every weekend, since buying this rod and reel combo for my husband I have gone through two rods and reels myself that were a cheaper brand and they did not stand the salt and heavy like this one did. The reel is smooth, drag is top notch, rod is one of the strongest.

I'm not a seasoned fisherman in any capacity, but wanted a nice starting kit that was easy to throw in the car. This telescoping pole fits that need. Comes with a nice case and some starting equipment like lures and hooks. The fishing reel feels and looks great for something entry level. This comes with fishing line that needs to be spooled unto the reel so had to look up some knots and learn something.

I have been in the market for a portable fishing rod/reel. Never miss an opportunity with this little gem. Very smooth reel action, as nice as anything I have gotten at Walmart aportable, inexpensive, fishing combo for a spur of the moment opportunity, this one is a gem. Keep this in your trunk and if the kids are playing at the lake, enjoy yourself!

First of all, the reel is Very nice compared to other reels I own. It has an easy collapse button on the handle with adds to the traveling capabilities and it has an anti-slip feature which I consider a must in all of my reels. This reel alone would probably run you 40 dollars. Next, the rod. It folds down to about a foot in size and extends to the 6 feet and some inches (the size I bought). The first two sections are very light action to feel the bites easier and after the 3rd, it is very solid. This doesn't quite compare to a high end one piece rod, but that costs around 100 dollars alone. All in all, I would recommend buying it for the ability to collapse and be transported and the strength of the reel with rod. The first downside is the inability to keep your rod spooled with your line when it is in it's carrying case. The other downside is having the worry that your hollow rod could break at any time, as its not as strong as a 1 or 2 piece rod.

Received yesterday, I am still skeptical on how long this will last me. But it’s a nice rod, I caught a couple large mouth bass with it in my favorite pond. The rod performed as expected, I don’t know if it can handle any 8+ lb slobs, but it was perfect for small pond fishing. I was able to put it in my fishing pack in my truck and now I have a fishing pole wherever I go. It’s good quality so far, but I’m still skeptical. Seems too good to be true. But I’ve caught fish, and it didn’t break yet after 20 casts. For the money, I’m really not too worried.

Over all the rod and reel are good. The rod feels very nice when casting and the extension is tight preventing the pole from collapsing when using. The rod is also very light and easily packable. The reel is heavier and holds lots of line, and is smooth when reeling. Salt water does leave water marks, but the reel is more enclosed than some others made by the company. I do prefer another reel made by Plusinno, but the reel is great for anyone looking for a beginner or lower cost combo. The action is Medium and it holds up good against large trout (caught 20-24 inch trout with the combo), and is comfortable to use throughout long days of lure fishing. Over all the combo is good inland fishing, haven’t tried ocean fishing but it should hold up fairly well with shore fishing. But would definitely recommend looking at some of their other reels such as the Black 9+1 BB Reel for a lighter reel.

It’s been about 10yrs since I’ve bought a new rod or reel. Ordered the telescoping rod/reel and case. Wow, nice setup. The rod extends smoothly and stays in extended position with no issues. The reel has very smooth action and is nearly silent. All the parts seem like very good quality overall. Even the case is decent. The only downsides I could find to the whole setup would be that the top portion of the rod extension can get a little stuck when trying to collapse the rod and the included fishing line is only 3 pound test -but that’s personal preference I guess. I think overall, this setup is well worth the money and I would definitely recommend it.
