If you have convinced yourself that you're an elitist, and must spend 3-4 times, or more, the cost of this little stove, read no further. If you're looking for a very well made, easy to light, boil water to frying an egg stove, this is it. I wanted this design due to its' broad flame base. The smaller surface on some others, boils water no problem, but for cooking, will create a hot spot. This has wide pot flanges, making it very easy to prepare food in a "normal" size skillet or pot. I fried eggs in a 8" skillet, and there is more than enough room for it. This stove has a small simmer flame, and I have read, although I haven't tried it, other's have prepared rice with it. No,it does not have a piezo electronic ignition. I fail to understand why this is such a big deal to some, unless the basic concept of starting a fire with a bic lighter is beyond them. I weighed the stove with fuel canister, then let it set overnight. Re-weighing it the following morning showed no leakage. One reviewer stated his had some leakage, but after applying silicone to the rubber gasket, the leak stopped. Comes with a very well made case, with one drawback. It would have been nice if there had been some padding added, but can't see this as a big deal, since it will be in my pack. Happy trails!

I hooked this stove up at home and checked it out. The flame is excellent; broad and infinitely adjustable. I will be able to cook the best scrambled eggs with this thing. My stove leaked gas at first. I could smell it and checked the weight loss overnight...4 grams in about 10 hours. I was about to send it back but decided to try a little silicone grease. I coated the top and bottom of the large rubber gasket, hooked it back up and let it set all day. No weight loss in 12 hrs and no gas smell. If you don't have silicone grease, I bet any grease or even a bit of oil would help make a better seal. The stove feels kinda flimsy but it's super lightweight, compact and the flame is better than some of those more expensive stoves. I got a jetboil for christmas a couple of years ago. Total junk for cooking anything but water. The flame is far to concentrated and there's no adjust-ability; it's either on full blast or completely off. For $20 this is an amazing bargain and it works with very common and easily obtainable fuel.

Mine came in a soft case with the control unscrewed from the body as its supposed to. The round lower spring plate was crooked and I had to simply depress the spring and center it before screwing the base on. This little stove is my second one in 2 years and the original is going strong. I cannot say this stove is actually "Better" than the Primus , but for cooking meals with a low flame is beats it Hands Down due to the larger flame base and terrific burner control. I can cook eggs without scorching them in a 8" pan , and can also simmer Rice easily without scorching the center as the adjustment knob isn't as touchy as the Primus Classic Trail stove and goes very low. For cooking on larger pans the extendable arms give a lot more confidence with the 7" width. Add a can base and your ready to go. I blocked off 1 of the 4 air intake holes on the brass shaft with aluminum tape because I use mine on adapted coleman propane bottles and its less noisy , more controllable low flame , and also not as easy to blow out in a wind.

I just got this today and put a propane adapter on it. It seems to have a 15,000 btu flame because it brought 16 oz of water to boil in 2 minutes and had pressurized my 8 qt pressure cooker in 3 min. Then it just simmered great and I cooked in the pressure cooker for 20 min. and used just 42 grams of fuel.

This has to be the best little propane burner for camping! It will only use propane -no adaptor-no bases and included. If you need more or less heat (mine didn't work at first) there is a small threaded pin at the bottom that goes into the cylinder. Move it outward for more heat. If yours don't work at all when you get it- screw it more outward. Used to make coffee...boild two cups water on about 7min. Comes with sturdy carry case.
