Was not sure if I would like the 8:1 gearing, already have a lixada standard 6.3:1 and it works great so figured I would try this to see how I like the higher retrieve speed. Instead of taking this out immediately I internally adjusted the magnetic brake to my liking and while I was at it I noticed it seemed a little stiff on reeling. found the level wind pawl was too tight so adjusted and oiled it and boom everything works great. Not sure if I like the higher retrieve speed just yet but it does move the lure in quick. Need to use it a little more before I decide for sure what the advantages may or may not be. As before most of my fishing is saltwater and I just make sure and rinse the reels off good and open them up a couple of times during fishing season to make sure they are oiled and greased and there is no internal corrosion. So far not issues with this reel either
