I have been using one of those Freshly/Hello Fresh boxes that come with re-freezable gel packs to transport food for my trips -- those gels have kept food cold for 2-3 days. As the boxes have started to fall apart, I was on the lookout for a properly insulated bag that could hold those gel packs while still allowing me to carry a large amount of food or drinks. One such choice is the YETI brand, and even though I have had a chance to use one of those, they are heavy and expensive. When I came across this Lixada bag, the price fit the bill. I have also purchased a camp stove from that manufacturer before that I liked, and so I decided to give this bag a try. PROS - Inexpensive - Large capacity - Front, mesh pocket to carry light items - Fits the gel packs perfectly - Insulation worked well during a 3-day trip to Yosemite - Bag is collapsible, making it easier to put away than the empty Freshly/Hello Fresh cardboard boxes CONS - The lid was difficult to zip close due to it having shipped partially inverted around the edges. I had to bend the edges down a bit, and eventually it became easier to close - Had a chemical smell that went away after 2 days of airing out - Fabric material seems a bit cheap, but that's to be expected at the bag's price point Overall, I like the bag. It fulfills the exact purpose I bought it for: insulation for a large amount of food or drinks.
