The multi colour led is great. The lights makes it easier for you to be seen at night. The flashlight in the handle is a nice touch. The button on the handle for the coloured lights can be pushed in really easy to accidentally turn it on or off. The flashlight is a simple push in on the light it self. It takes 3 AAA batteries and seems to have a long use time. I have not measured life of the batteries. Love it and people like the idea of the umbrella
