I needed something that would allow me to play audio from my laptop or my phone through my nice stereo system in my home office. I use the optical output and keep it powered with the AC adapter. Laptop and phone come and go from the office, but it seems to remember the pairing. I haven't had to re-pair either device. The range of the device is good enough that I crank up the stereo in the home office and play audio from my phone as I move about the house and it maintains the connection. If you need a device for bluetooth audio in > optical audio out, this one works and was reasonably easy to set up and use.

PROS-this works great in the living room where i use it for music, it also works great if i have my phone on me and i’m walking around the house and it doesn’t loose connection,CONS- had a small connect problem at the beginning, it had a hard time connecting to my phone( android) but my son tried his iphone and worked just fine, after that it started to work.
