I had it in my front porch light and it worked fine. It was under a ceiling and never got wet. Not sure long term. With moisture in the air?
By Bradley on April 27, 2018
Sorry, it cannot. But it can support Homekit automation if you have an apple TV with tvOS 10.1 or later.
By Mungo on April 17, 2018
If you already have Bluetooth lights you wouldn't need this socket. You use regular light bulbs in this socket which is the better cheaper option than those expensive light bulbs

Works great! I rented an apartment where my bedroom ceiling fixture was a tripple light and fan that was not on a wall switch. Hence I bought the product, and it fit perfectly. I was worried about it being consistantly lost on the network and not working, but I found it to be highly reliable. I used it with sir via Apple homepod, iphone, ipad and I watch and it works everytime. In very rare occassions there is a slight delay and I think siri keeps trying the command until its done. I only wished it had dimming capabilities.

I bought this article hoping to be able to manage all the lights of my home in a simpler and more intuitive way. Well, I have to say that this adapter has fully met my expectations, both in terms of functionality and compatibility with Apple Home Kit and Siri. The configuration is simple and fast, just plug the device and the bulb into the slots to allow the current passage, which you can test through a small status LED. After that you will download the official application of the company Koogeek, from which you can easily set up your new smart bulb! Once you have configured it, you can also transfer the data to Apple's 'Home' application to manage all home appliances in a harmonious way. Interestingly compatibility with Siri will allow you to turn on and off the light thanks to your voice, a bit like you could see in futuristic movies a few years ago. Thanks to the application provided by the company, you will also be able to check the actual consumption of the bulbs, to program the switches on and off and also to create rooms (corresponding to the rooms of the house) to handle all the lights more quickly. PRO - Excellent materials - Certified Apple Homekit -Compatibility with Siri -Installing fast -Interactive Functions AGAINST It is a bit high for those who are approaching these technologies I conclude by saying that this article has met my expectations and I recommend buying it to anyone who is interested in this kind of article.

This adapter turns any bulb into a "smart" light bulb It takes 50 seconds to configure it, just install the "Koogeek home" app from the store, make "device add" and follow the automatic procedure, you do not even need to put in the pairing code, just place it in front of the camera and it will be all automatic Once configured it is also possible to run it through Siri without interacting with the app. Just a few details: - Unlike the vast majority of "smart" bulbs it is not controlled via bluetooth but via wifi, so you do not need to be close to running it, just be in the same network.

Interesting Smartphone Home Automation: Just install a bulb to install it, plug in the adapter and re-screw the bulb. The attack is big, E26, and you can fly through an Apple phone, just follow the simple instructions and you can also use Siri to turn it on and off. Each adapter has its own unique code, covered in my photo to prevent some commands from being in place! You can also remove the adhesive from the body of the adapter, so it is also inside the box and the instruction booklet. Surely it is an interesting home solution and easy to drive new bulbs that are plugged into a power outlet.

The product is really very beautiful and very solid to the touch, the packaging is well cared for and features the Apple Homekit certification logo and this already guarantees the excellent product quality. In the box we find smart sockets and instruction in English but it's very easy to use so they do not need it. Both in the instructions, inside the box and on the smart socket we will find a code that is needed to pair the device to the phone. At the store you have to download the Koogeek Home app that is really useful as it combines the bulb with the connected bulb, the time it is used, and it is also possible to turn the lights on and off at pre-set times. The app is also very useful for upgrading the smart socket and in fact, an update will be required for the first time. The smart Socket thanks to Apple certification can be used with the native home app and you can turn on or off the light with the voice using Siri. I'm very happy with my purchase thanks to the excellent quality and I would recommend buying it to anyone who wants a home automation without rebuilding the home. The device is compatible with bulbs and E26 mounts.

I ordered this smart socket because I am not good with electrical wiring. What I mean by that is that I wanted a timer on my front porch light to automatically turn on and off my flood light, but that meant I would have to do some special type of wiring to get the timer to work. So I took the easiest route and now in my mind, the best route. I bought this smart socket and in a matter of moments, after I took it out of the box and screwed it into my porch socket, had it working. The set up was very easy. I simply followed the directions in the box. All it basically took to get set up was to download the Koogeek App, sync it to my home Wifi network and presto, it worked. I first tested in my lamp fixture to ensure that it worked and it did. I can control so many things with my smart phone, that it just amazes me. Whether I want to control my light while I’m at home or on vacation, all I have to do is jump on the App (or the Apple Home Kit) to control it. Technology is awesome theses days. I love everything about this smart socket and envision doing more business with Koogeek because of how good this product works. One quick note. If you have a 5Ghz Wifi network and 2.4Ghz Wifi network, only use the 2.4Ghz one to set this socket up. This socket will not work properly on the 5Ghz Wifi network. Just a head up.

Before I do anything, let me start with some HomeKit 101 for first time users: 1. If you are planning on using HomeKit / Siri when outside the house, you'd need Apple TV 3 or 4 (4 has more options for automation and video camera support) or a dedicated iPad that stays at home and is connected to power. The better option of the 2 is to get an Apple TV 4 in my opinion. 2. If you are getting sensors, buy sensors that can work with other devices from other manufacturers. For example if you get the Hue Motion Sensor, it can only talk to Hue lights. Instead get Eve motion sensor that can talk to any HomeKit accessory. SUPER easy set up. Download the koogeek app this app automatically talked to my HomeKit app so you don't have to additionally then add all these devices to HomeKit . Screw in socket into your lamp as if it were a lightbulb and then screw your lightbulb into the socket and turn lamp on. Click the plus sign on the app and it'll have you take a screenshot of the code they give you on the device box and that’s it! I have used these for my recessed lights on the living room roof. One half of them (3 of these) use the iDevices socket while the other 3 are CommandKit Incipio bulb holders. I like the iDevices socket better. They had no issues pairing using the iDevices App, and they have never had any connection issues (unlike the CommandKit bulb holders which I use but should have returned). Pros: Very stable connection. I did have to retry during initial pairing, but once paired it was extremely reliable. Cons: The only Con that I can think of is that they may not fit into some of the light fixtures, these add a couple of inches to the limited space available in some of the light fixtures. So be vary of that. I wanted to use them for my recessed lighting, so they were fine for me. These are the same size as my CommandKit smart bulb holders. Check out the video I have listed with this review for more information on how to set up the device and my overall opinion as this is a great device!

1. Why would you need this? * lazy & dont want to move to turn the light on or off * away from home often, you can set it on & off at certain times to appear your home * or scare your kids like me lol 2. Why not a 5 star? * a bit pricey if someone wanted to buy more than 1 (but average for this item) * the light on the side of the socket bulb could be bigger so you can see when it's green Overall a great product and easy to set up. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market for it.

This is an excellent gadget that is easy to use and works with any bulb I decide to use. I love that I can use any bulb I want, I currently use the LED bus which last a very long time but if they go bad I can replace for a few bucks and don't lose the entire wireless kit as with other smart bulbs. This soccer was super simple to plug in and I had it running on my apple home kit in a few moments. Now I can turn on my lights when I am away and someone knocks on the door since I have the camera doorbell. This is excellent!

Seriously, am I the only one that likes to be in bed before I turn out the light? Without tons of expensive electrical work, this is not possible, until I found and received this smart light socket. It was super easy to setup, just remove the light bulb, screw this in and screw in a regular light bulb (all of mine are LED so they use less electricity), bu this worked perfectly. I was able to download the free app very easily. Now I can get in my bed and turn the light on and off (with my phone app) very easily. I love love love that this is so easy to use.

This smart socket really changed how I interact with my room. I was a little skeptical at first having tried smart sockets that were pretty awful. They would break after just a couple months or wouldn't screw into the socket very well. I have had this product for a total of 3 weeks now and so far it has been absolutely fantastic. It fits into the socket snuggly and has held up functionality as well. I understand this is still early in the life of the product, however, as of right now I am very satisfied. I will be updating this product review further down the road to tell if it has held up or not!

It’s nice to use lights like these for lazy people such as me. The installation is extremely easy although if you’re not great with phones, I wouldn’t recommend this. Otherwise, just follow the instructions, install an app and you’ll be set. Other reviewers have mentioned this so I won’t get too in depth with specifics. The only thing that’s peculiar about this socket is its size. I don’t refer to the bulb socket size as that fits pretty much the standard E26/E27 bulb in America, but it’s just that it the actual device itself sticks out quite a bit, being noticeable to floodlights, ceiling fan lights and any other lights that aren’t too hidden, making this more optimal for just lamps that are spacious inside. It fits my ceiling fan lights surprisingly but doesn’t fit some lamps that I have unless if the bulb was changed. Just keep in mind of the size of this as it may not fit or be to your liking. Otherwise it’s a reliable light that has made switching lights easier. If you can or don’t mind the bulky size, this isn’t a bad option.
