The balance plug is actually the part that touches all cells it doesn't need the main plug because of that the main plug only touches the 1st and last cell in the series this is an okay charger there are better ones for the same price or alil more had mine for over a yr and still works fine

No only 2-3 cell lipo batteries

This recharges the small port with 3/4 wires on it. The large cable part of the battery could have a variety of connection types. Lipo batteries have two different cables on them. One is for charging.

I've found these to be quite temperamental. Unplug it and plug it back in (maybe in a few times) and if it's actually been charging, most likely the lights will all change to green. I can plug it in, get one set of colors, unplug it and plug right back in again, and get a different reading. Sorry I don't have a better … see more I've found these to be quite temperamental. It will work for that battery as long as it is 2 or 3 cell, 7.4v or 11.1v. In my opinion, it's the best value charger out there :)

If traxxas has a pull off cable on the battery, yes. I don't think they do so you're out of luck.
