This price is great. It can make 3 DMX512 channels, so it can eliminate 0-255 RGB strips. The option to use rj45 or xlr is a good complement for permanent installations, while the 8 channels are very large, so a total of 24 amps. I bought a 5050 rgb strip with 5 or 16 feet and a combination of 3 channels for 2 amps, so it has a lot of rgb strips. I bought 5 installed in my house and they are being controlled by Arduino. Also, can be used to test red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, magenta, white units, jump 3 jumps 7 faded 3 fade 7 test function and jump and dizziness is adjustable speed. These modes are not controllable through DMX, which is a shame, not through DMX, which is a shame output mode, but at the end of the day it doesn't really mean type controllers, decoders / DMX receivers. Please note that this box has a 3a channel and a 8th channel version.

Use these in a regional theater and my only complaint is i've had some bad units over time, but for the price i'm not mad they don't last. I've gotten at least a year on all of them, and only 4 out of 16 have crapped out, 1 in about a year, the other 3 in about 3-4 years. We also use them really hard, so I'm not disappointed.

If you're looking for a product with clear to follow instructions and an intuitive hookup, look elsewhere. This product has a "COM" terminal (Common annode for those who know about LEDs) and their instructions say to not use the COM terminal. The instruction manual has many misspellings and hard to follow grammar. There is no indication on the DIP switches on which direction is ON. However, once I got the hookup correct, the test functions were very nice. I haven't hooked up to a DMX controller yet but once I get back to my lighting console I fully plan on it. All in all, this seems to be a decent DMX to LED converter/decoder, but just don't depend on the instruction manual.

The unit worked as expected. In my case, I was using the XLR sockets, not the RJ-45 sockets. Set up the channel, added inline to the other lights, ran power to it. Using it to control two 5-meter RGB strip lights (in parallel) on a stage. Only CON I really had for it was the dip switches. they get knocked pretty easily and you need to re-confirm the channel you want the device set to if you fiddle with it at all (or move it around). They are very "flimsy" in that sense. All in all, works as expected.

This is my review for the Lixada 5M RGB LED Strip. WHAT YOU GET IN THE BOX : You get 1 RGB LED strip, one power brick, one LED controller, one LED controller controller, and an instruction manual. BUILD QUALITY : I am VERY impressed with the build quality of this product. The RGB has a thick silicon coating, that will make it much more durable in the long run, and would likely make it much more resistant to the elements. The box and power brick are just plastic but I expect nothing more, and the controller is good. Great job on the build quality! FUNCTIONALITY : These are perfect, except with one big gripe. The LED strip is very bright and frankly gorgeous, and the silicon coating helps better diffuse the light, giving a more consistent glow rather than the segmented glow some other strips suffer from. The controller works good and there is a good amount of customization. My main gripe with this, and by far the biggest flaw IMO, is that there is no adhesive on the back! This is something I had definitely come to expect on an RGB strip, I had planned on putting this on the back of my desk for cool lighting, but now this will be much more of a hassle, because I have to deal with zip ties and such. OVERALL : Overall, I would recommend this RGB strip. These are obviously meant to be used outside or other places to where they would be subjected to harsh conditions, and this is why I assume they didn't bother putting adhesive on the back, but I still would've really appreciated it being there, or at least a note somewhere on the page.
