You could but would have a larger change of erratic operation since you connection would not be as secure.

Note that this board needs 5v DC. Many LED lights internally have 12v DC available. So, you would need to use a 12v to 5v circuit. Many are out there for under $1. You could also take the circuit board out from an automotive 5V USB charger. I have seen videos on YouTube that demonstrate inserting this into a LED fixture.

It has a standard SMA connection on the antenna that goes to a U.FL connection on the circuit board. So you could adapt a different connection off of the U.FL without much issue.
