I got this violin as a gift for my lady, and she simply loves it. Easy to play, good sound and very stylish. As usual, the headphones are not worth much, but with a better pair of headphones, it's all good. The case is VERY nice. The whole setup is well worth the investment. This instrument inspires curiosity as to how good these electric violins get. We'll see where it goes, as for now, we're ready to plug this into an effects processor and destroy our speakers.

It's a great entry level violin, at a good entry level price that produces a remarkably good sound! I wasn't too sure what to expect, but the strings and bridge were all set for me. All I had to do was tune it, put the battery in, and (if I feel like it) plug it into my guitar amp. With no amp, it still produces good enough sound to hear without annoying roommates or neighbors, which is precisely what I was looking for. So far, I am really enjoying it. Don't forget to loosen your bow before you put it away! And practice a little every day!

As a beginner violinist, I did not know what to expect when purchasing this instrument. Ive played an acoustic violin for about a year, with about half of that being professional lessons and the other half being just free play. The violin shipped within two days, which was very quick so kudos to Walmart. Everything arrived undamaged, and ready to play out of the box. The bridge arrived in place, the strings were on but untuned, and the pegs were in place. The strings will be getting replaced, as the ones that came with it are decent but not the best. The instrument itself is immaculate. It looks beautiful, with a bright blue shine and interesting open body style. The bow that came with it is very good. It is real horse hair, and it sounds great on the instrument. I bought a cheap amplifier just to start out, but it also works with headphones if you don't want to buy an amp. Overall, I think this violin is perfect for a beginner with little experience. It was completely worth the money, I am very happy with my purchase and I am already in love with playing it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap electric violin, you will not regret it.

I bought this as a starter violin for myself, as I am teaching myself (over online lessons) to play the violin. I didn't want to spend too much money on a first violin, though, as I had no idea if I'd enjoy the instrument or not. Also, I didn't want to make a lot of sound while practicing, as I knew I'd be mostly doing so at night, when my wife and neighbors are sleeping (I work nights, and stay up all night on my weekends).
