I was really surprised at how quiet the reel was while retrieving and how it lacked any noise when casting lures. I mainly fished 1/4oz swimming jigs with it and the reel worked flawlessly. Adjusting the brake and drag was straight forward and the reel maintained whatever setting I dialed in the entire weekend. Most new reels have to be adjusted as they break in but this one hasn't needed any so far. I will update this review as I get more time on the reel. I have already gotten my money's worth out of the reel. You can't go wrong giving this little guy a try.

For the price, this is a good bait casting reel. This reel is decently smooth but does make some little noises (seems get better after break in). Build quality/finishes seem to be very good for the price. The magnet system is easy to use but the tension knob leaves a little to be desired (not terrible, but does not have great range). I would not hesitate to buy it again, but do not expect the smoothest of reels.

never used one, so will take some getting use to, did get wrong reel as I like other side but will live with it, very small and nice looking and seems very solid-- but already had a couple bird nests-- boy it can go south quickly-- old man will keep trying to learn this new reel as it is not the reels fault I assume--

I like this reel. Once i got the drag set i put it to use at a near by pond. Didnt catch any monsters on it but the performance was great. Very smooth in my opinion. Time will tell how much durability it has but as of right now im satisfied. I have other high dollar baitcasters but this is just as good as the other ones. It is well built as well.

I purchased the Lixada because it was on sale and it looked cool. I did not expect much out of it for the price. Well I was shocked. This reel cast as well as my Diawa Fuego with the same line and lure on it. It has a metal skeleton body but some carbon type of outer door and shell. I would put it in the class as the Abu Garcia BlackMax. They look similar and are on par with performance but at a few dollars less. If your on a budget and are looking for something that works and wont break the bank, this is a good start.

My whole life I’ve been fishing with spinning reels. Lixada one very popular bait casting reel few years ago, got a bird's nest and returned it. This reel took me 20min. of practice and I started casting it with no problem. The onlyvproblem now: I have to by a bigger better rod. Great product, I dint thing you'll find anything better at this price.

For starters, I was a little hesitant purchasing a reel off of Walmart. I usually like to see what I'm getting in person when it comes to my rods/reels. For the price, I just couldn't say no and...I am so happy I did! I figured I would be getting a cheap, disposable reel but I couldn't have been more wrong! It has such a solid feel and smooth retrieve. It honestly feels like the reels that are 5-6+ times the price.

I needed a good reel quickly when I realized my old one was damaged. This came in next day. The holes on the spindle were great, allowing me to avoid the electrical tape fix with braided line to prevent slipping. Took some doing, but got the line through and tied it off so NO SLIP! Once I got the brakes and drag adjusted, i found I could cast a lot farther than I could on my old shimano reel. Very pleased and will buy again if/when I need to.

For the price, so darn inexpensive, especially with a coupon that was applied, this reel is super nice! Smooth enough, based on the price point, but of course you can get smoother with more bearings and more money. It just seemed to be really comfortable to use, much easier casting than my other baitcaster and really nice control over backlashes and such. I'd give it a huge thumbs up for the value!

I really like the price of this reel nd the size fits in my hand really good.I have lots of reels in this gear ratio but I think you cant ever have enough fishing gear. Its smooth easy to open to see the spool magnets and it will match all my other reels with the black and red colors.

I received this reel last week and we had a really nice weekend for some fall fishing. I took the reel out with my radio and enjoyed a few peaceful hours on our local riverbank fishing along the riverbank. No much biting, but the action of the reel was great. It's solidly built and looks nice too.

I haven't been out to fish with it but the feel and castabilty of this reel, I plan on using it for everything from bass to steelhead and even rockfish. I am going to get out and fish with it this weekend and see how I like it like it matters but it matches my rod perfectly which does matter to me.
