I used it down in the Caribbean, it of course packs down into a nice compact unit for traveling. I also used a closed face spinning reel. The combination works very well for me. I caught a 5 lb. Snook and a 2 lb. Amber Jack. I did hook a couple Tarpon but they typically run 20 lbs. +. The just ripped the bait off the hook but the rod works great. Using this rod with a fly reel may be a little more of a challenge but certainly doable. i'm satisfied with it, Item arrived pretty fast (considering it's being shipped from China). The telescopic rod appears to be well-built and made of good quality material. Not a single scratch on the thing and it came well packed.The action of the rod is about medium-heavy. The rod arrived with a tip cover and a thin black mesh bag for carrying around.

great! I love these poles, i can speak much of their quality or performance,wow i love the way i can put my bait caster reel on them and collapse them and put them into my tackle box. I travel alot with work, so being able to put them inside my tackle box and having a full size action fishing pole when i see a lake in the area i am working has been Awesome.
