The hardware part is well done. All the components are present (even with 1 or 2 more) and well packaged. The documentation is to be found on the eleksmaker website. The editing procedure lacks detail, and especially is not up to date for the latest version of the machine (which is now more rigid, but undocumented). Must have a little experience in maker for everything mounted correctly (but the design is well done!). When it came up, he walked on the first shot! To make it more stable, I mounted a wooden plate base targeted by its plastic feet. I also made qq holes in plastics to allow better attachment cables (with plastic zipties) The soft (EleksCAM v3.1) worked well for communication with the machine via USB, and for manual control - I was able to validate the movement and the laser easily. On the other hand, the engraving or decoupage does not work at all - the loading of an image (even of their gallery), of a svg or a text generated the errors, and a 'path' which was not Whatever! And send it to start the laser, but no movement. According to the site banggood, this can be bypassed by a config of the PC in English / local US .... I tried to do but the conversion of text or bitmap to gcode still does not work .. To advance, I could do 'paths' with Inkscape + Gcodetool (included) to generate the gcode, and the project 'Candle' to send the gcode on the machine -> which worked! [update] an important point: the operation of the laser is controlled (at least in the latest version of the EleksCAM ROM) by the parameter 'S' of the gcode: a value between 1 and 1000 to adjust the power. If we do not put a value of S, no laser! As for the laser, I took the basic model of 500mW - it burns / cuts white paper, and engraves (with black outline) the wood and the cork.
