We purchased this to put in garage because we have kittens living in there. It got really hot this summer and we wanted to make sure the little ones would be okay and how many fans we should turn on. This worked great! I'm sure it would work fine in the house too, but we don't really need it there. Now that it's fall and cooling down it'll be nice to know how high to turn up the pets' heating pads to keep them warm in their beds. The magnet on the back is super handy and easy for mounting. We stuck ours on the side of the tool chest so it's eye level.

These are great inexpensive little devices. I have one in my fridge and one in my bedroom to monitor temperature and humidity, although I really should buy a couple more as I sometimes have to move one of them to the basement to check the humidity level and see if it really is humid or just feels that way, so I can adjust the dehumidifier.

I bought these because I set up a greenhouse to see if I could overwinter some of my plants. The greenhouse is basically concrete blocks, boards and a big sheet of plastic that is weighted down with more concrete bricks. I put one of these inside there to monitor the temperature and humidity. It's pretty awesome because I can see that my greenhouse setup is indeed keeping my plants alive, with the help of three seedling mats. It's super satisfying to be able to see real data that tells me I got it right.
