Only thing I've found that helps is to thoroughly clean both the windshield and the mount, rinse to get off any cleaner residue and try again. All of these suction cup mounts have this problem.

You can use the cigarette lighter plug or if you have a usb wall box you can charge to the wall... I haven't tried directly with the usb cord

it can work with the galaxy s8 plus. I do not recommend you charge it while the phone is being used as a GPS, because when charging your phone, you are using it, such as (navigation, etc.) at the same time. then the charging speed is certainly not as extinguishing screen.

I bought this because I hate plugging and unplugging my phone all the time, infact I have cordless chargers at work and by my bedside. I used this charger for a little while plugged into my usual cord before I could get around to running the plug that come with it hidden under the dash. Make sure you use the cord that comes with it because my original cord would lose a couple percentage points on my drive home using Pandora and GPS, but the cord that came with it, keeps my phone at a constant charge level.

When you open this package you could think that what you have in your hands is a standard car mounting kit for your mobile phone. In essence that's exactly what it it. It comes with a suction mount and all the bits and pieces you need to convert it air-vent mounting along with a charging cable and car accessory socket adaptor, but it doesn't quite end there. The sting in this devices tail is that the plate that support the rear of your mobile phone also incorporates wireless charging circuitry so if your phone is fitted with a wireless charging coil you're in business. The good news continues however in that the device includes 3 overlapping charging coils so you're not restricted to ensuring that your phone is mounted directly over the 'hot-spot'. The charger also allows for quick charging and my venerable Samsung Galaxy S5 charged completely in about 2 hours, not bad going. If you use your mobile in your car a lot and you don't want the fiddling about plugging charging cable in and out this could just be for you.

Decent charger. Charges at a good speed but if I use it as a sat nav it mostly sustains the battery adding about 1% every 20 mins. Other issue is sometimes it struggles to maintain contact with the phone which can be annoying if listening to music as it mutes to play charging sound. Overall I would recommend. My phone is an s8 plus.
