Questions & Answers
Don't bother with the adjustments unless it's poorly assembled. This is a great table-top slider, kinda sucks on a tripod. I would buy it again for a stand-alone tabletop slider, but the tolerances needed for the great moves on a tripod just aren't there. Hope this helps.

But it's not designed for any existing motor units that I'm aware of, and there isn't a location specifically for mounting a motor or a controller. I have a pan/tilt motor mounted ON the slider, and it bears the weight (but not with a big DSLR too). But motorizing the slide motion would require building something, or at least getting really clever. I use this slider mainly for manipulating very light cameras (HERO, Galaxy S7e, etc.), so there is little inertia involved unless I include the pan/tilt motor. The more weight, the more helpful a motorized slide would be, but at this price, that flexibility isn't really provided. And of course the units designed for add-on motor control cost a lot more, and the motor and controller easily doubles that. see less

The motion is very smooth for the full length of travel. Be sure to wipe off the bearing surfaces with a microfiber towel, or tiny bits of dirt can create little bumps along the rails. This is a good unit for the price, but it requires some extra attention to keep the rails and rollers clean.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good slider but consider what your need is before you buy it. At first I was looking for a slider, cheap and simple to use, I was not considering investing in a more expensive slider that at the end will fulfill my needs even more. This slider is made of good quality, aluminum, came with a case, and is very simple to use, but you have to have a steady hands to make it work at a pro level, don't get me wrong you can achieve pro results with it but you have to master the ability to move it from side to side flawlessly. I think this is a cheaper version of other brand that is a motorized slider with more expensive features. First, if you make the right adjustments the slider will perform at an acceptable level, this is the right tension on the plate and how to move it side to side very smoothly. For me the feature that made me buy it was the option to double the length of it when you mount it on a tripod, that give you the ability of a longer slide on a very compact and portable tool. In my opinion the slider is a very good investment to anyone who want a more professional look in their videos, I do not recommend it for time lapses. The only bad thing that I can find is that the belt that made the slider move side to side is made of nylon, I was expecting a belt made of rubber or some other more durable material that perform better in conjunction with gears, that will give the slider a more precise and smooth movement. The plate is fixed, for a following slider shot you have to add a tripod head to the plate. You have a bubble level, adjustable feet, rubber stoping at the ends, portability, and the ability to double the platform when in use with a tripod. This slider will make some user very happy.

Bought this so I can do smooth videos by attaching this rig to a tripod. This has a great sturdy build and nice adjustable knobs for changing smoothness resistant depending on the speed at which you want to record. The metal body was nice because this thing is built to last. It can with a convenient carrying case. My main use will be with my cell phone on a grip mount but this slider can take a full size DSLR because of the way it is built.

This bargain slider comes in a handy little carry bag and is ready essembled. it is able to mount both 1/4inch and 3/8inch threads. It is of strong construction however I found that at first the run was a little bumpy. I took some time to adjust the runners and got it pretty much smooth as glass in travel. This is the only reason im not giving it 5stars! Its a manual slider so no motor but for the price im sure you wouldnt expect one! I have been using the slider to film on my YouTube channel (PCTechHub) since i bought it and it has bought a whole new dimension to what I can produce when comined with my fluid head mount. Highly recommened if you are just starting out and dont wnat to or cant envest too much money. Hope this helps!
