Has anyone tried this with a red-epic/weapon v-mount?

  • Haven't tried it with a RED. The one that I bought was for use with an URSA. It works, but the fit is rather loose on the one I have and it won't lock in place (even when you forcibly apply the catch mechanism). Whether the fault is with the adapter or the URSA is unknown. I haven't ever had a battery pack fall off, though. Applying upward force on the attached battery pack (i.e. like when you're panning the camera down) will often result in a loss of power. Its happened to me. And, two other camera operators that have used the system experienced the same. I can't say that I'd recommend it if you're picky about things like uninterrupted power on a shoot. see less

      Used it to convert my RED I/O Vlock expander to accept gold mount batteries. Worked great! No power issues and a great cheap solution.

      Works as advertised. Much cheaper than Anton Bauer version, however I have not determined if there is a fuse inside or not. Using it on V-mount light panel with A/B batts.
