These are fantastic and big bright bulbs. They definitely suited my needs and worked perfectly well. I have ordered others similar to this that have been faulty out the pack which was extremely disappointing as they kept flickering making it impossible to photograph since you had to catch it at the exact right time when the bulbs werent flickering in order to get a usable shot- they really were a nightmare. But very glad to say no issues with this one thankfully, and it throws out plenty of light. I use it with a photography set up for photographing garments and accessories with 2 softboxes, a tripod and a backdrop and the photos come out looking very good and produces a nice clean background for easy editing/retouching. This just goes to show you that you don't need to spend a fortune to produce reasonable quality photographs and even with just a basic setup like mine I think it's a fantastic investment and you will never look back! I really like this bulb because the light it produces is smooth and really powerful. It is exactly what you need if you are a professional photographer. It will also be a great affordable photo bulb for an intermediate to advanced photographer. In the photography lighting is the number one thing you must think about. It is very easy to take pictures when the sun is shining all around, which is only 5% of the time if you are in the UK. Even when you take pictures during the day time you cannot dictate the sun where it should be. If the sun is in undesirable position then it might produce too much light on one side and deep shade on the other. No matter how good your camera is, the resulting image will be of very low quality. However this lamp solves the problem. The lamp is so bright that you can put it in the right position and you will prevent too bright / too dark contrast. However not all powerful bulbs are equal. Consider a bulb with a coil inside, the light originates from that coil which means that the distribution of light will be also coiled. This lamp is advantageously different. The light is produced by putting electricity through a gas hence the produced light is even and smooth. This is why this particular bulb is an ace. There is another reason this bulb is great. Energy efficient bulbs are expensive, and the brighter they are the more expensive they become. When you consider this you realise how cheap this bulb is and at the same time the light it produces is of a professional quality. If honest I do not know how they can make it so cheap and high quality. Furthermore you will save on electricity bill and this lamp last much longer than other types.

I bought this bulb as a cheaper alternative to flash guns for my home studio. These daylight bulbs give a light very close to pure white, which is ideal for photography. In conjunction with a flash-through umbrella, they produce stunning images. The brightness is good - I recommend at least two or three of these for optimal lighting (e.g. left, right and over). A powerful, value for money daylight bulb.
