  • Hello, if AF is active then it works, you cannot install external mic because it uses mic input.

Would this work for canon 5d mark III?

  • The Viltrox JY-120-c1 did not work well with my Canon T3i. Claimed range was 100 meters. Actual range was 3 meters. You might look into Youngnuo 603 II which I found works well.

  • No. It is simple and relatively inexpensive. Allows wireless remote functions but has no timer to control multiple exposures .

      I'll be honest, I bought this to take some high quality head-shots of myself, with my tripod and Canon T5. Phone camera quality and mirror/holding phone pics can be so awful. With this, can take some high quality pictures by just pressing the button. Was all plug and play for my canon T5.

      The shutter operates very good at far larger distance then I will ever need, I use it for bird fotography wherby I place the camers on a strategic spot and walk away myself out of sight of the birds, I also use it for portarits and group pictures , it gives me more liberty to guide the model(s) and the added sharpness is a plus. Usulally I do not use the hotshoe as I need it for the flash but attach it to the tripod with a rubberband, that works just as well I was so eager to order this remote that I did not pay proper attention to which model camera it will work for ( cable fit) and ordered the wrong model so I had to order an extra cable so look good before you order and do not repeat my stupid mistake

      This works awesome for shutter release, bulb or timer. Even works for continuous. Does seem to need fresh batteries or sometimes doesn't work right. But no issues other wise. Used on a Canon rebel t5 camera.

      This was a wonderful buy, works with my cannon rebel t5, we were able to take over 100 pictures with no battery issues. Can’t wait to take it out and use it again. It was so easy to set up, I honestly expected it to be slightly more complicated.
