A good fast solution for connecting to WiFi if your desktop doesn’t have WiFi support and there are no Ethernet cables around. This plug and play WiFi antenna works just like one that plugs into the pcie but the specs may vary. I haven’t had any issues with this and am pleased with this purchase

So I have some mixed results. If you plan on using this with a linux system you will have to connect to the internet first in some other way to get the correct drivers. This may take some hunting if you aren't super familiar with linux. I googled the the adapter model and was able to find something. When I tried it with my windows system it worked out of the box no drivers needed. Using it like using any other wifi device. As long as the router is putting out a good signal you will be fine for online gaming, surfing the web, or streaming.

Excellent product. I recently purchased a Dell desktop computer but do not have internet at home. I bought this, installed the driver (included on the CD that came with it), plugged the hardware into the USB port, and switched on my phone's WiFi. Just like that, I had a lightning-fast connection and can get more work done at home. Item arrived on time. Highly recommended.

I was having constant problems with my PC staying connected to local WiFi. A friend suggested that the built-in WiFi receiver on the PC was at fault so I ordered this adapter to see if it fixed the issue. And badabing badaboom I plugged this gadget into a spare USB port and was up and running with a super solid WiFi connection in under 5 minutes.
