This device doesn't wake my screen when I switch tracks or play or pause, the same as if I used a wired headset. Playing and pausing will work. If the default music player that you have set in android is closed, it will launch and play.

Yes. It works well. The controller works much better for music than it does for games. The games have to be iarcade and none of them are much fun to play.
