Setting it up looks intimidating, but once you've done it once it is super easy. You do need to be constantly feeding it sticks or it will go out, but again, that's pretty easy once you know. Also it fits perfectly in the MSR 500 mL pot, which then fits in the carrying case that this comes with. Like they were meant to be.

I have never used a stove of this sort before. The TOMSHOO did not disappoint. I found it to work amazingly well - excellent protection from wind, easy to refuel in use, and it gets quite nicely hot. I love the simplicity of this kind of stove, and the fact that it requires one to make use of environmental resources. I can't wait to use it again. Clearly a lot of design work went into this stove, and the result is excellent functionality. I recommend it without reservation.

Just received it, built it and I'm really pleased with it. Its well made, sturdy and, just as other people have said, its big. Ive taken this baby into the woods nearby and cooked bacon, eggs, wild garlic, sausages etc. It works so well. To get going, a suggestion is to light cotton wool balls wiped in Vaseline. Stick small, dry twigs on top and build from there. For this price, I cant recommend it more

Good set up but the top pan rack is not very stable. It was shaky on a kitchen countertop , which doesnt exactly inspire confidence when i know it will most likely be utilized on uneven ground. Being out camping the last thing i want is to be cooking and my food just topple over.

First off, this stove is a (duplicate? replica? clone? homage?) of another wood gas stove that rhymes with "Filver Sire". I don't know what category this stove fits in, but I have to admit that for the price, it's definitely a good buy. There are stove that are more light weight (technically) but this one doesn't require you to pack isobutane cans or plastic bottles of methanol. It's going to work with any reasonably dry wood that you can find. And a note about the dryness. You're not going to be pleased with this stove in a rain forest. It's going to need to be fed with reasonably dry fuel to achieve a good fire. Once it's going it can tolerate damp wood. Damp, NOT wet. Also, this stove likes to be packed moderately tightly. I've seen a few videos where the reviewers pile up a handful of twigs and then complain about how much they need to feed the stove. I find it works best when I lay the stove on its side and pack it with vertical twigs, and after it lights off. feeding it dry(ish) fuel. I can keep a cooking fire lasting at least an hour this way with not a lot of work. The tl/dr? It's a good stove at an even better price that performs well.
