You might have made a construction error, but more likely this is normal behavior. It should come on over 10kHz. The kit is based on an original design that is documented here: www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/freq_counter/freq_counter.html. It is well worth reading.

Assembled in less than two hours (I'm not an expert), it worked immediately very well using a probe of my oscilloscope. I use it to measure very low frequencies, from 1 to 80 hertz, it seems precise. programming functions (which I don't know what they are for). Last note, using an oscilloscope probe measuring exact frequency. Using two simple cables with a double result (eg. 100 Hz effective I read 200 Hz). Does anyone know why?
