it will get wet of course, the bag is a little water resistant but everything will get wet in it if submerged

I don't see why not. I have a D3300 and two lenses and more. To me, it's a great "day bag" for taking pictures, etc. It wasn't intended to be a "true photo bag" with isolated compartments, etc. I can carry my cell phone, a bottled water, the camera stuff and more in this one.

Yes! The camera equipment fits very nicely in it's own, divided section of the backpack (with easy access, as there is a back entry zipper to grab your stuff). So, the top portion of the bag is still very roomy. Definitely a wallet will fit, and I'm sure a travel size makeup bag will fit as well!

Not really sure about that, but it holds my wife's ipad quite easily. I believe those are 10", so I don't see an issue with something that's 13"...... Hope this helps.

The lower padded portion is large enough for a camera with a long lens. The upper portion isn't padded but plenty large for extra lenses, accessories, etc.

Yes, it can hold a tripod inside and cannot exceed bag size, Capacity with 1 * D/SLR + 2 * lens etc.

In the camera bag section of the bag I can hold up to two DSLR cameras with lenses attached, and then the upper part of the bag still has room for anything from diapers and wipes, snacks, waterbottles, etc for my little 2 year old. It's a great bag and very versatile in its usage.
