Q & A
I wouldn't see why not. The weight limit covers pretty much every DSLR.
By Phillip B. on March 12, 2018
No. Absolutely not. It can't handle an A7 with the smallest 35mm lense Sony makes.

yes, Here's a video that I hope can help you. https://youtu.be/X4GbT2YJPDY

Yes. this slider Weight: 1086g. Although is small, but because it is Aluminum alloy material, forgorilla pod is still a bit heavy, I suggest you buy a travel tripod. This will be the perfect solution to your problem.

Mine is just as smooth as the day I unpacked it. Is there some type of debris that may have gotten into the mechanism? It looks easy enough to take apart and clean.
By ToolBoxHero on June 15, 2017
It will work on all cameras wth a tripod mount. The light the camera the smoother the slide. Be careful not to overtighten the brass screw.

I've never used anything like this before. In terms of photography, I consider myself at best, an enthusiastic amateur. I've seen people use sliders and they always look so cumbersome. I saw one like this online, but it was way beyond my budget, so when I found this, at a fraction of the cost of others I thought I'd give it a go. Arrived in a nice box, with foam inserts, which contained the slider, a ball joint swivel and a 3/8-1/4 inch converter. I was surprised at how heavy it was, however the quality of the machining is superb and operating it by hand, the movement was very smooth and fluid. Sadly, the weight was too much for my tripod, which has a quick release plate (plastic), soif you're looking to buy this, make sure you have a decent tripod. I'd also recommend one with a direct 3/8 fitting, as I had to use the adaptor and felt that the 1/4 screw on my mount was a tad flimsy. The slider operates via a belt system, which turns the relevant connection (panning or linear) as you operate it.. Depending on what angle you set your camera to, will affect the end result. I tested this in both modes with my camera pointed at a fixed object, which was central at the start point. I quite liked the results, although clearly I do need to practice further with it. One mistake I made was not supporting the front (camera end) of the slider as I operated it. This resulted in some minor wobbles which were amplified on playback of my recordings - I've left them in on my video - as I say, this will take practice. Overall, I'm very happy with it. Thankfully there are a few decent video's online of systems like this and I'll be studying them carefully to pick up some tips and tricks to improve my use.

Really creative and useful photography and video aid, I love photography and taking video and my aspirations of production are somewhat out striped by my creative ability, I wanted something that would assist me with panning and linear motion video capture and photographs of objects from different angles keeping the same perspective and although for myself this was expensive it’s still a fraction of professional gear to do the same job. It comes in a lift top box packed in custom foam along with a mini ball head for connecting the camera and a screw adapter taking the 3/8 inch screw hole to a 1/4 inch screw thread for a standard tripod fitting, I would say that you really need a wide base tripod for this to avoid topple and tilt strain movement and the tripods with a quick release catch will just bend with the weight at full extension. The andoer camera slider is a heavy bit of kit but also precision manufactured to give a smooth glide across the panning or linear motion movement you can instantly see the high quality movement and finishing, I have a small tripod with a 3/8 inch screw which it fits straight onto but while taking shots have to hold the base solid to avoid movement which I am getting better at, I am planning to get a larger wide base tripod but my main objective for getting this is some close in macro shots and panning motion shots on ground level. I found the motion really smooth and am finding I am getting better at running a smooth motion at a steady speed although I do expect to vastly improve the more I use it. I fitted my GoPro Hero5 to it and have recorded some different shots with different settings on the camera showing panning and linear motion using my small tripod and have been really impressed with the quality it produces.

Hier sollte man in Einen besseren investieren.

Bought this hoping I could fit a HDSLR slider that would be able travel better on my KLR 650. This thing packs up nice and small and works well on a heavy duty tripod - not the travel tripod that I was hoping. It's heavy. That's the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars. Once I hooked it up I found it to be FREEKING AWESOME. The slides are super smooth, there are two different positions for panning or linear. You will need the 3/8 adapter of you don't have that in your gear. It locks tight allowing for easy packing. It slides nearly 2 feet froom start to finish - maybe more. Pro: Packs tight, works very well. Cons: Much heavier than expected. Needs a sturdy tripod - won't work well with a travel tripod.

After waiting with anticipation for this to arrive so I could play with it, I have been let down with my own equipment! More about that further down. When you open this, everything about it says good design and build quality. I did a lot of research on this before I bought it because although this is really great value at £102, you can spend an awful lot more on this style of slider and I didn't want to be caught out. As I do not claim to be a professional, I do not want to pay professional money for things. It come well packaged and protected from bumps and drops but the only negative thing I will say in the whole of the review is that it doesn't come with instructions, which are always nice to have a read through when you have something like this. It locks down at just under 9.5" and gives the effect of nearly 4 times its length when in use. I got it out straight away and fixed it to my tripod using the 3/8's adaptor that is supplied. That is when I realised that I need to invest some more money in my photography to use this.

I am very pleased with this device. It is a much more cost effective alternative to the Edelkrone wing. I cannot vouch for the quality as I do not own the Edelkrone, but I am able to achieve the shots with the smoothness I desire with this device. This device has "re-energized" my slider creativity and usage. This device is sturdy, yet easy to pack and setup. The slider action is very smooth in my opinion, the attached handle helps to keep shaky hands at bay. I really enjoy the automatic orbiting and panning action that is built into the slider, as these were things that I would have to do manually with my previous slider. For Self-funded DSLR video shooters, this is a great option.

As a professional videographer, I shoot a lot of weddings and such. I have a nice long straight rail slider that i normally use. I decided to try the Andoer Track dolly out. Is is superbly built! Solid, all metal, precision-geared manufacturing. I was impressed. It is heavy, which can be considered a pro and a con. Pro that it doesn't bend or flex, but con that you definitely have to have a very sturdy tripod. VERY STURDY. STEP 1: The dolly only has a 3/8" mounting screw, so I had to initially remove the head of the tripod I was going to attach it to. Granted it would be nice to have a 1/4" mounting option also, but I think the beefier the connection point the better. Once mounted onto the 3/8" thread, I couldn't figure out what the brass set screw is for at the mounting point. Tightened and loose, nothing seems to change in the operation of the slider. Weird... I would have read the manual for the slider, however it doesn't come with any documentation at all. Yes, I get how simple the use of the slider is, but I'd love to know the purpose of the brass set screw. I first tested it out on my MeFOTO Backpacker tripod because it was the closest tripod to me. Even without a camera on it, the small tripod (set at about 3' high) would tip over as I slid the dolly back and forth. Widening the tripod legs and lowering the center of gravity, I continued my testing. STEP 2: I attached the included little ball head 1/4" mount to the linear screw on the dolly. It already feels a little flimsy, and I noticed that the linear screw would rotate side tot side slightly with no motion of the dolly. (See the first few seconds of the 5D video as I can slightly rotate the camera before I begin sliding. NOTE- the Panning screw doesn't have this loose play in it.) STEP 3: I went all out and attached my Canon 5D MkIII to the ball head. Now, my camera has a battery grip on it, plus I have a 24-70mm L series lens on it. The whole camera weighs in at 4.4lbs., and yes, I know that is way above the recommended weight for the dolly. The little ball head couldn't successfully keep the 5D pointed up, it slipped constantly. Also, the dolly, when fully extended to either side, seemed to sag under the weight of the large camera. However, on the plus side- the dolly slid back and forth relatively smoothly. I'll attach actual test video footage of the 5D on the dolly. STEP 4: I swapped out the 5D for a Canon T5i with a battery grip and with a 50mm prime lens on it. (1.5lbs total weight) This camera was idealy suited for this slider! Despite the initial "wiggle" in the linear screw (as mentioned above) the sliding motion was smooth and relatively effortless. I'll attach a couple test videos from the T5i for linear movement and for panning movement. REVIEW: The PROS are: -Heavy construction, solid build, smooth operation, great video results, minimal moving parts, super compact, great for small DSLR or GoPro or smart phones, fast shipping, great packaging, easy and quick set-up, great value for the cost. The CONS are: No documentation, can't handle large DSLR, wiggle in the linear screw, flimsy ball head included. I can't fault them for it not supporting my heavier camera. The wiggle in the linear screw could be a manufacturing anomaly, I don't know. I am frustrated by the brass set screw, with no explanation.

This thing is amazing when used with a suitable tripod and camera. The unit itself is made of rigid metal and does not flex or wobble. You need a sturdy, no-nonsense metal tripod, preferably with a height-adjustable center rod and a leveling bowl instead of a panning head. The Andoer Slider comes with a small ball mount for the camera, but it's only suitable for something as small as a Go-Pro. To mount a lightweight mirrorless or DSLR camera, you want a sturdy pivot mount to adjust the forward tilt of the camera. In practice, you should level the tripod and/or leveling bowl before mounting the Andoer Slider, insuring it will be perfectly perpendicular to the floor. The weight of the camera should be centered on the pivot mount, and it should point directly forward when the slider is folded with the locking pin in place. There is a small metal hand knob at the top rear of the slider, used to rotate the slider arms to produce the sliding movement of the camera. There are two mounts for the camera on the top front of the slider. The mount at the front end is used for straight horizontal movement, simulating a traditional linear slider. The mount closer to the center produces an inverted panning arc, where the camer arcs in the opposite direction to the movement of the slider. This creates a circular arc around your subject which no linear slider can duplicate. The camera motion is silky smooth, totally quiet, and absolutely mesmerizing to watch. The only limitation is the size and weight of the camera, which ideally should be as light as practical. 500 grams combined camera and lens weight is fine, much more than that and the system may become top heavy at the extreme extension of the slider. Once you have the right gear and align it properly, the Andoer Slider works flawlessly. In fact, its main drawback is that the movement is so fluid and resistance free that the camera cannot be left securely in an unlocked position. After disengaging the locking pin, you should actively control the movement of the camera at all times, rather than guide it to a position and expect it to stay there by virtue of mechanical friction. But once you start using it to track your subject, you won't want to take your hands off it!
