A This FPV just refers to you can use the SD card to save photos and videos of the aircraft in the aerial, but not real-time transmission. thanks.
Sorry, NO. This not a POV type setup. There is one from BANGGOOD, for around 110.00$ but doesnt get good reviews. People say the X5c is much better at flying.

No, there is no headless mode. There is a new model that looks exactly like the Soma X5C that does have headless mode and also return to home, its called the Bayangtoys X8

This drone far surpasses previous flying toys we have owned. We have gone through several helicopters only to be disappointed very quickly with their performance and durability. I purchased this for me as my toy and wouldn't let me near adult kids play with it until I had a chance first. Of course both of them are better skillled flying it than I am. Today's youth who play video games will take to the controls like a natural, for me, I need time. BUT I was able to get it staight off the ground on the first try and was able to easier retrieve it out of nearby trees before the short-lived battery ran out of juice. I should purchase another battery because I need more practice to learn how to fly this drone. Great deal for the price. Very pleased with my purchase.

Buy extra batteries and a charger with multiple ports. It takes some practice to fly but the learning curve is not bad at all. I was able to fly mine for an hour while cycling the batteries through the multiple port battery charger. It is light and doesn't do too well in winds stronger than 10 MPH. Not my first drone flyer but it's by far my most favorite. The I didn't give it 5 stars because the battery life was horrible. But the extra batteries to cycle through made this a worthwhile investment. The lithium batteries do get hot after they run out in the drone. Not sure if it will do more than get really hot but I fly my drone in my yard.

So, I saw a brief article somewhere mentioning how much fun this was. Having never owned a RC aircraft of any kind, I ordered it and it arrived quickly and intact. First couple of flights resulted in some substantial crashes but the Syma survived OK. Subsequent flights also included crashes, a recovery from a tree among them, but it survives still. After ordering I thought about trying it out and possibly getting one for my 8yo grandson as well as he loves RC toys. Well, I won't be doing that. It does take some considerable finesse on the controls to keep the craft going where you want it to go, especially the throttle. Beyond the abilities of most 8yo I suspect. It is very light so any amount of wind really blows it around. But, it will handle some wind if the pilot is sufficiently skilled. I haven't quite arrived at that level yet :-) In summary, if you want to try out a quadcopter, this is a good place to start, especially at the price. The camera works OK but don't really expect HD. Vids are pretty grainy but it's fun to see what your piloting looks like from the craft's perspective. Now, I'm thinking of what quad to get next! Quick update... After a dozen flights or so, one of the motors failed. Apparently they are easily damaged if a prop is prevented from spinning with power on, for example in event of a crash landing. So, if you crash it, immediately move throttle to OFF position. And, buy a couple of replacement motors. Giantex is going to replace my quadcopter bit I'll be prepared to make future repairs as needed!

Fun! Much better than the first one I bought which wasn't this brand. Found out that one was a knock off of this one. That one was defective right out of the box. Bummer on Christmas morning. Flew helicopters before and you knew front to back so controlling it was a gimmie. My first quad and I'm still working the control input without the obvious picture of theres the front turn that way. Bad news is I also ordered multi battery packs which still haven't arrived after over a month and they still don't show as being shipped yet even though they twice now have said this date then this date and today no date. WWWHHHAAATTT!

I can't say enough about this drone. I'm not a tech guy at all by no means so if I can fly it and keep from tearing it up it means something. It,s easy to operate, easy to sync up, great drone to learn on. It,s pretty tough I've bumped it into a few limbs, chased my dogs and one of them caught it and blade it didn't even scratch him, the drone didn't break, prop didn't even get messed up. Now the camera is a little grainy but better than I thought it would be for the price. I don't like giving 5 stars for anything but this drone is right there. You'll have a blast with it

This is a great toy drone for people who are wanting to get into drones. The image and video quality isn't the best, but it's definitely cool for its price. If you're looking into getting a longer battery life, I would suggest taking off the prop guards and camera. Furthermore, buying an additional battery is always an option if you're looking into flying this drone longer. The drone can go really high, and the lights on the bottom helps determine the orientation of the drone tremendously. All in all, this is great for beginners!

This drone was recommended by a friend, and I've found that if it is flown with care, in the open and AWAY FROM TREES it can be a nice little toy. I like that so many of the replaceable parts are affordable; motors average about $2.50 each. We noticed one motor seemed weaker than the others on our first outing, and before long (and after a day stuck in a tree), the motor didn't have enough torque to spin the rotor. Replacement seems a little convoluted with so many screws to remove plus the need for soldering, but looks doable. Additional batteries are a must, as each charged battery flies for about 7 minutes and takes at least 45 minutes to recharge. The picture and video quality of the camera is surprisingly decent. I'm a bit flummoxed though that the video includes sound, which records only a very loud motor noise while it is in operation. I suspect the quality of these units varies considerably from box to box, but since most of the parts can be replaced -and eventually will have to be anyway- you're only a few solders away from a like-new flying unit. Buy it knowing that additional expenses are a likely part of the equation.

Bought this for my 30 something son for Christmas. He really likes it and thought it was alot more expensive than it was (so did my husband who paid for it but was pleasantly surprised to find out the real price). My son took to it right away and is still having fun with it. I did think that the materials were a little flimsy and was weary when I noticed so many spare propellars but so far he hasn't need to use them. He says it's better to practise inside the house first than to let it get away from him outside the first few times. My husband was truly surprised that the camera came with this model and said he might want to try one. I think that I might by this for another adult but wouldn't trust my grandkids with it.

This is my first quad-copter that I have owned. So this is written from the perspective of an entry level person, which many of you may be. The X5C-1 is great! It's very easy to fly, and a lot of fun. Having the High and Low function made learning how to control it very simple. You can learn on low, and then switch it over to high to really zip around when you become comfortable. You can expect to crash some when you first learn how to fly, but the good news is that it is very durable. I have crashed many times in a variety of ways, and the only thing to break were the thin guards around the propellers. That's easily fixed by removing them. I've been flying without the guards and the propellers are able to hold up against the crashes. Even if they break, there is an extra set of props that come in the box. The camera that comes with the X5C-1 is not bad. It's pretty simple to attach and detach (which makes the copter more acrobatic). And the video and pictures that come out are pretty good considering this is a toy. In conclusion the X5C-1 is a lot of fun to fly! The only problem I've found with it is the battery life is only aprox. 7 minutes. So I'd recommend buying a few extra batteries for it to extend your fly time.

I have 30 yrs RC experience, but this is my first quadcopter / drone. After LOTS of research, reading hundreds of reviews and lots of videos, I chose this one as my first. I couldn't be happier with it!! This little guy is AMAZING!! Extremely stable, great indoors and out!! Some reviews say it's no good in the wind, but I disagree, it's rock solid in 10-15mph winds, and in mode 2 (expert) it has more than enough control to fly outdoors. The video isn't that great, and the range is 200' at best. But for under $60 it's a home run!!! I also purchased extra batteries that are 750mah, I'm getting about 10 min flight time with the stock battery, and over 13 min with the upgraded batteries. This is with the camera, landing gear, and gaurds removed. I purchased a huge set of crash parts, that included spare motors, but I haven't needed any of them yet. I would estimate I have about 30 hours on it so far,and I'll say it's a GREAT first drone, perfect for learning to fly, before spending $500+ on a pro type drone. I will definitely be getting more from SYMA.

Christmas day, Boy-o gets his new drone stuck 80 feet up in a tree. Five days later, we manage to get it down. I recommend purchasing a slingshot and some 1 oz weights with this item (I am assuming you have a fishing pole). Five days, three of which were heavy rain, being shaken with the branch it was stuck on, then tumbling to the earth, striking the tree nine or ten times on the way down. Once retrieved, we put in the spare battery we'd purchased. Perfect picture, good video, no need to replace the blades. The only issue was that it wanted to fly backwards, which my son fixed with a simple adjustment from the controller. I've bought a lot of RC items for my sons over the years; this is the only one that was worth the money.

So, I'm completely new to the quad flying thing, this thing is awesome. Very easy to learn on, once you figure out the controls. A couple times outside I took it up beyond my comfort level ( got some great pictures) when I felt it was getting away from me I killed the throttle and let it fall back to the ground at about 100 feet I throttled back up to full recovery, no issues, complete control again. As far as durability, fantastic, I've bounced this thing off of everything possible (trees, kids, walls, ceiling fan, cars, roof and 1 very moody harrier hound...) had it stuck in a tree over night, threw a football and knocked it down, new battery and it was good to go. Only knock against this thing is battery life, buy the 4 600mh batteries and charger for them and enjoy, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.......

The quad is super stable and very easy to fly. My first remote controlled flyer of any kind and I'm already buzzing around the living room with no problems. 4 stars because of 2 issues. The battery connection on the quad is horrible! It is impossible to fully insert the battery and get a solid connection. This is because the connector in the quad is simply 'slotted' in place and it is free to slide away from you as you attempt to snap the battery terminal in. Further the plastic shell of the quad will interfere with full insertion even without the sloppy fit of the connector. I actually had several battery connectors get burned from the arcing of this connection after only a couple flights. Luckily I spotted it and resolved it by unslotting the quad connector and just letting it hang openly in the batt compartment. The other issue is with the SD card. I think mine is faulty. I tooks a couple of pics and a short movie and then viewed them on my PC. No issue. Then I took a quite long video (295mb) of a flight. I was unable to transfer it to my PC. The USB kept disconnecting from Windows (not disconnecting physically). Windows event view showed that the device has 'bad blocks'. I tried to format the drive with Windows but it will not complete the format successfully. I'm ordering another SD card to test with. Once again. Fly's great. Watch out for loose batt connections, and good luck with your camera. I bought this to learn to fly with, not as a video platform (thats just a nice to have for me). It seems it will do that job perfectly and for $50 is hard to beat.

This drone was pretty difficult to get used to. I did love the lights that lit up the entire drone though. Just remember you cannot fly drones at night!! Pros: - Lightweight. - Good camera! - Flies fairly smoothly. May need a few adjustments though... Cons: - It was difficult to figure out how to install the battery. I wasn't pushing it up far enough so it kept getting stuck. - Flashing lights promote night flying. Bad idea. Against the law as far as I know. - Only has an extremely limited flight time (This is ALL drones, so this isn't a design limitation.) - Camera isn't great, but it works! Overall, I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. I'd call this 3.5 stars if I could. It's a fun drone, but not for me.

So here's the real deal with this quad, it is an excellent -while at times frustrating- training device. The camera, yeah, not really what I would call good quality, even compared to cell phone/tablet video. I find the video to be contrasty and pretty darn grainy even in bright sunshine, stills are no better. Thankfully I did not buy it for the camera, my intent was to use this as a learning to fly tool, as such this works very nicely. When I first flew it I was crashing every few seconds, now I'm running the batteries down before crashing. While on the subject of crashing the X5C does a very good job of surviving multiple encounters with much harder objects. Bits can fall off but are easily replaced. The blade guards work well -no broken blades yet. The biggest negative is that the trim controls need to be frequently adjusted to get the X5C to resemble a stable hover. After changing the battery don't expect it to fly without adjusting trim yet again. I did take it outside for a quick flight with little to no wind and it flew just fine but be warned a light breeze can blow it of course easily. Over all I like it, it is fun to play/learn. Would I buy another, probably not but only because I intend on getting a more professional craft. Oh and one last thing get extra batteries.

This was my first quad copter and so it took me a few days to get used to flying it. Then I added the camera to take a video. When I tried to remove the mini SD card it would not release. I had to remove 6 mini screws to get it out of the camera and then reassemble the camera to use again. I had hoped to get a replacement camera and just keep the copter. I contacted Tomtop and as always they were very helpful but the only way to get a usable camera was to take a refund on the one I had and order a new one. Since I want to keep flying while waiting for the new one, and since the return is not due until 31 January, I'm keep the old one until the new one I ordered arrives and then I will send the old one back. Hopefully the camera that comes with the new copter will function correctly.

For the price, this is great. My husband hasn't stopped playing with it since Christmas. He needed quite a bit of practice before he could really navigate it, but that was a fun challenge for him. He has taken photos and videos all over our neighborhood. He said it's really durable but he ordered extra replacement blades for future - it falls pretty hard when it falls! He also ordered extra battery packs so he can go beyond the 7 minutes of the original battery included. I would really recommend this for any geek of toys & electronics, boy or man!

I bought this for my husband and it has been a great starter quadcopter. I did a lot of research on drones before buying and am glad I picked this one. It flies easily, although of course it takes practice. The camera on it takes great video and pictures. I have seen negative things said and written about the quality of the pics and suspect that their expectations may have been unrealistic. I did have some issues regarding the camera only working intermittently, but the vendor did send me a replacement. Do not underestimate how important the headless orientation is. When I push right, the copter goes to the right, regardless of where the head of the copter is. It has a trick button on it, that makes it very easy to make the copter do a midair flip. My husband loves it and is looking forward to spring when he can fly it outside daily.

My husband LOVES this. Only problem is it's stuck 100 ft up in a tree right now. His recommendation.. It doesn't have the best control when too far out of range. Keep it within a safe range.. He took it up very high.. and then it lost range.. and kept going in the direction it last had the signal to go (up) and went into tree. He won't use it in a large field again, trying to get it as high as he can.. Lost range. He loves it though, and bought another one. Also recently it needed 'recallabrated'.. Watched You Tube video and it works great again!

Okay, this will be my second order for the X5C-1 Quad. Even though I've flown many types of planes in the past, this is a different animal all together. By the way, this is not a toy in spite of what it says on various posts. I just flew mine into the woods never to be seen again about an hour ago. I started getting cocky and that is a bad thing to do with this quad. The Syma X5C is one of the best quads on the market. I've tried 4 others only to send them back. This beats all the other I've flown due to its smooth flight, ease of control and a pretty long battery life. You do need extra batteries though. My advice is to read the manual and practice many times before you go above 40 or 50 feet and that's flying in an open field. The hardest thing to learn for me is turning the quad 90 or 180 degrees.
