I purchased this fan to get ready for summer and help with the spring muggy days. It is less noisy than I was expecting and just enough noise to help you sleep. It cools the room well and I have only had it on low and medium. You can only move it up or down. I highly recommend.

I’m a guy that requires white noise and a breeze to sleep. We were going out of town and I was tired of lugging my mega box fan everywhere so it was time to try to find a smaller fan. From experience .so trying this fan was sort of a no brainer. This thing blows really good for its size. Also the noise this fan puts out is in that sweet spot. Not too loud and not too quiet..steady pleasing tone. I don’t know about the longevity of this fan as I’ve only had it a few days but at this price you should just do it.

So I had this old Honeywell fan that I've been using for about the past year. It has served me well, mostly used to keep me cool while working in my little home shop. But... I wanted to grab another one to keep in my bedroom. It's starting to heat up around here and these little fans do a lot in terms of circulating air-conditioned air. I've uploaded a little video comparison between the two in terms of sound. Since I was looking to place this one in my bedroom, I was definitely looking for something a bit quieter. And let me tell you... in terms of noise, this fan does NOT disappoint!!!

Just the perfect fan. I've used the small Honeywell fan for years for both circulation and white noise in my bedroom, leaving it on pretty much 24/7. It worked great but inevitably started making clicking noises before dying out altogether. This fan is totally smooth and quiet, and the air circulation is both quieter and better. The fan is not much bigger than the Honeywell, and yet it feels more substantial. Adjustable speeds and position are easily set. As I said, just the perfect fan. Another great Basics product.

We use it in the bedroom for cooling purposes along with out central AC. It replaced a "white noise" fan which did not fit on the dresser as well as this more compact fan. I have only used it on the low setting. Along with the Lectrofan (for white noise) It is a perfect companion. Don't buy it for white noise, It is perfect for that purpose.
