So far, this has worked very well for me. The main function I mainly use it is to find the stud behind the dry wall, but it can also be used to detect live wires. When using one of them, turn on each switch in that area. I want each wire to be energized so that this device can detect them and minimize the risk of accidental property damage when passing through walls. (See attached video). I am an electrician and this tool is much cheaper than hiring me or a drywall machine for a repair. When you receive this tool, make sure to take a few minutes to use it before making a hole in the wall to thoroughly understand how to use it, especially if you have never used the stud finder before. For example, I noticed some 1-star reviews that the device was calibrated away from the wall, and then users were frustrated because they couldn't detect any studs with it. Of course it doesn't work anymore, it is calibrated wrong. Lean it against the wall during calibration, otherwise your readings will be worthless. This is my first purchase of this brand of stud finder. I have some other tools, I tend to like them at first, but I find that they have a shorter lifespan than most of my other tools.

I bought this to replace the old stud detector and chose this because it can also detect live wires. Recently, a friend of my daughter's drilled a hole in the wall of his house and hit a live wire. He was taken aback, and he was taken to the emergency room. I am a single homeowner and always try to ensure the safety of my job, because if something goes wrong, no one here will help me. I chose this stud finder because it can find live wires, but also because of the positive reviews. I was not disappointed. I have to try it as soon as I get it. Follow the instructions, you need to calibrate it in the air to find the wire. But it is easy to do this. I tested it on a dry wall with wallpaper, and even tested 1/2" pine paneling. This thing found the wire connecting the light switch to the power socket. I also tried it on some walls where I know there are no wires. I didn’t get any false readings. I’m glad I bought this and will use it next time I drill a hole to hang something. You never know what’s behind your wall, I’m always more happy to be safe than regret.

I found someone looking for a stallion a few days ago. It is on sale and has good reviews. Why not? ? ? ! ! Arrived an hour ago. Hope they mentioned that 9V batteries are not included; but this can be easily corrected. I read the instructions (I usually expire because I am Anar and a former naval flight officer), and it works as advertised! I found these instructions to be very worth reading. The performance of the device is very accurate. The multiple settings of shallow vise depth, metal vise wood and electrical integration are very useful. It is necessary to calibrate the device before use, but it is very fast. Compared to the ones I had before, this is definitely a good deal.

I ordered this for my 73-year-old mother and she mastered the studfinder in only 30 minutes. This is the first time I bought a tool for her, and there was no crazy phone call at 4 AM: how to open it and let me decrypt a road map, or try to explain to a screaming lady through Zoom, because there is no limit to her It is impolite to raise my voice in your speech. The only thing I want to explain here is how to calibrate viewfinders of different materials, which only takes 5 minutes. Now to review: even with small hands, the tool is very ergonomic. The only problem was that the calibration button was accidentally pressed because it was located right in the thumb slot. The reading is easy to understand. Mom likes that the centerline extends to the top and bottom so that she can make a 90-degree mark. When locating the approximate area of the stud, several rounds of calibration, scanning, and repetition are required until accuracy is achieved. This is a good price gadget.

I received it on the same day I ordered and the product is very effective on drywall or slate. Turn on the metal search mode and pick up the nails or screws to fix the dry wall. There are four modes. . Stud mode, depth scan mode, metal mode, electric indicator mode. It will let you know that there are live devices on the wall. I just can't tell you the exact location. I have plaster walls in my house, and the only thing I can find is nails or screwdrivers. No studs can be found on the plaster wall. In my bathroom, it is plaster with metal slats sandwiched between plaster. The tub area is the same as the top tile. Due to the metal slats, the device could not find anything except the constant beeps. I praise this tool for finding studs in drywall. Don't buy it if you have plaster walls. If you buy this plaster wall tool, don't complain to the company. Runs on a 9-volt battery, not included.
