So, the light panel arrived in a light cardboard box. There are no instructions I could find that tell me what the power source for the panel is...what kind of batteries...volt or current ratings...? Who knows? Also, there is no cover that protects the mystery battery compartment. So, it’s open to humidity, dust, dirt, sand, whatever... if the mystery batteries aren’t seated perfectly, there’s nothing to prevent them from popping out and onto the floor. I guess you can make a back cover with plastic or cardboard that can be taped over the back and around the side...???

I'm old and not a very serious photographer. In days gone by I also avoided 'lighting' as it seemed complicated, cumbersome and expensive. Bought this for a particular video shoot using my new Canon 700D. More experienced photographers will be aware of such lights, and the pros will spend much more, but to me this came as a revelation (pardon the pun). Cheap and highly funtional. A professional videographer at the shoot borrowed it for most of the time, that's how useful it is.

I am extremely happy with my purchase of this product. I have already used this product in my new videos. It is very bright and does what it says on the tin. The use of batteries instead of AC is great for portability. Look forward to using outside for nighttime shooting. Many thanks!

Using this with an accessory shoe doubler (see photos) on my Lumix FZ330, and have to say it's a great bit of kit for the money. If you are looking to produce video clips (vlogging, youtube, whatever) on a budget then it is hard not to recommend this. I was a little wary when I bought it, as I have seen similar units that are not that bright, that have flimsy battery compartment covers or no cover at all, and which frankly are not fit for purpose. This one, however, is none of those things. Packs a real punch considering the size. Light yet powerful. Light is dimmable using the on/off wheel. And the dimming actually works nice and smoothly. Battery options are many, but I opted for rechargeable AA's (that seem to last forever, well many hours on full light setting) and the compartment cover has a good click as it closes and keeps them tightly in place. The rear panel has a set of red battery condition LEDs, so you know when your batteries are about to expire and can swap them over in good time rather than have a shoot interrupted. Comes with everything you need to attach to either a tripod or your camera accessory show. The adaptor for the camera shoe has a ball joint for angle adjustment, but this is probably the only place where budget pricing shows: it's not very reliable/stable in my experience. Comes with a set of colour filters/diffusers that snap firmly in place.

Excellent budget hotshoe video light.the good thing is about this light that it has a dimmer dial which i really love about this light.🖒 It also has the LEDs on the back con which tells how much charge is still remaining. You can use double A batteries but you has aslo an option to use lithium-ion (a seperate purchase). And also make sure thar all the srews are tight that the light will not fall off the camera.

Good at what it does, for close-range additional light. Better if you don't use panasonic battery packs as they don't fit without an adaptor. In my case I used standard AA cells. Get yourself a reflector too, so you can bounce daylight around as a fill light during the day (which this would never compete with for brightness), and only use this at night, or indoors.

I often have problems trying to predict the lighting of sensitive items. Flash is great, but I cannot judge the results until afterwards. This LED light allows me to manipulate the lighting of an object in a different more controlled manner. It is a great addition to my camera bag, one that has been missing for a long time.

From what I have experienced with this light it is very good, great in fact. However I'm not sure whether this is just a fault on mine or a design problem but for whatever reason whenever I put this together the alignment of the light is never straight, it's always a tiny bit out. For such a little thing to be out of place it is annoying for me but this however does not alter the performance of the overall product. Again I am not sure whether this was just with my purchase but the instructions were pretty non-existent for me, yes I knew it was pretty self-explanatory but I would rather use one battery rather than 6 AA batteries while using this and not knowing what battery I need is a little pain. They are my only problems with this product as the actual LED battery indicator light is blinding on it's own and when the actual light is on full power all I can say is WOW. This light is great for my little projects for YouTube and I can't fault it! Whether it's mounted on one of my tripods or on my camera I always get the right amount of light I need for my shot! Pros: Light is amazing, cannot fault it. Cons: Whether it's a defect or design flaw my mount never straightens directly up and instructions were non-existent when it came to alternate battery size.

Loved the light, for the price it is, it's a very good light almost like a mini portable studio light. However you need 6 AA batteries or a special battery that you need to buy separate. Would be good if it came with the special battery but for the price you can't complain much!! Love it and use it in all my YouTube video's. I even made a YouTube video, reviewing the light for my YouTube channel.

Unfortunately the delivered unit had some of the battery connectors inserted the wrong way round, making it impossible to use AA cells, but they were just push-fitted into the lamp housing and easily moved to the correct locations. Provided were three filters: white, pink and yellow which despite the description referencing a "magnetic diffuser installer", were simply slotted into place in front of the LEDs. Only one filter can be fitted at a time. The display brightness is easily set by use of two buttons on the rear of the lamp, "+" and "-", with the level indicated on 5 (very bright) LEDs. At two clicks on an up/down setting changing the LED indicator by one step, this gave ten levels of brightness. A brightness setting is not remembered when the unit is powered off. The lamp itself is quite solidly built and provided with an adapter which allows it to be hot-shoe mounted on a camera, or on a tripod. I fitted 6 new AA cells and measured the following, using an X-Rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter: Full brightness with no filter, at approximately 20cm = 8,000 lux Color temperature at full brightness, with: no filter = 5950k white filter = 6006k pink filter = 6544k yellow filter = 4660k
