I ordered the smallest (20 watt) pump. It's a little larger than I imagined it would be and the heavy-duty construction makes it, well...heavy. ;) Mine came with an attached carry handle, a barb fitting, a short piece of tubing, and a plastic 6-way air manifold. This is an ongoing project that I'll update with future progress and results. I have just under 500 gallons in ~25 tanks and containers, all using sponge filters powered by 8 different air-pumps. I suspect this pump will have no problem replacing all 8 pumps currently in service. So far: under an approximated load this pump is louder than say, my pump made for deep water; but not nearly as loud as the worn-out pump vibrating itself to death in the corner of the room. That being said; Due to the close quarters of the room, I do plan on isolating this pump in an actively ventilated (if it runs hot) and sound-proofed box. I expect these to be an effective sub-5 pound heatsink while in operation. We'll see!

What a great little pump and such a good price! I have two lines hooked to it, and they both go to extra large stones in my 1/4 acre pond. They are aerating the water great! Just what I needed. May actually buy another so I can add even more air stones, but am waiting to see if this does the trick to circulate the water. So far, it appears to be just what the "pond Dr." ordered!!! Great Product, but did not like it when I tried it with just one line, actually puts out too much air! So you need to have at least two of the lines producing. On the unused lines, I used a piece of the Jungle black flexible airline to make a loop going back into the "spreader". Works great.

Bought the 55 watt version of this pump to replace another pond air pump that is 3 times the cost. Noise is a non-issue for me because I use it outdoor in the filter pit. The waterfall noise is louder than this pump. Generates a lot of air through the 4" bottom drain with diffuser plate (5 ft deep). I Tee'd off to a valve to reduce some of the air flow. If used indoor, in aquarium, I think the 55watt version would be overkill, unless you have multiple tanks. Can't speak to longevity, but hoping in a year or two when the diaphragm needs replacing, that the simple design makes it a non-issue.

I have one running for my pond, it's been going for 4 years ( 24/7) it gets hot in the summer and flow slows but I cool it down with the garden hose and it keeps on truckin! It's loud and I wouldn't recommend it for inside unless you could put it in an attic or closet...good buy for the money! It pumps about 20-25 LPM and is plenty for a pond.
