I play tenor guitar, so my guitars are a bit brighter than a 6 string. I A-B'd the Biyang Compress with a 1996 MXR Dyna-Comp and a 76 MXR Dyna-Comp Script reissue. Of the 3, the 1996 Dyna-Comp was by far the most interesting pedal. Why? Mojo. It doesn't pretend to be transparent or wimpy. It squashes tone and is colorful. It's 70s funk colorful. It's 60s guitar colorful. It's classic FM radio colorful. The Biyang is adequate but who wants adequate? Spend the extra $20 and buy a new Dyna-Comp. Mojo seekers look elsewhere.
