Unfortunately we had to return this telephone. It was not as easy for an 84 year old to use as we thought it would be. She had a difficult time figuring out how to plug yhe phone into the wall and how to turn the volume up. Probably user error. This telephone would be fine for most end users.

I live in a very rural area, so don't always get signal for cell phone and if we lose power, I have to have a landline. All the other phones I've bought in the past always have a buzzing noise, a lot of static and are so light weight, they just fall apart. I purchased the "Advanced American Telephones 210WH AT&T 210M Basic Trimline Corded Phone", and it is perfect. No static, no bussing and no other problems. It's made well, heavier than the other cheap phones out there. I didnt need one with a battery back up. I needed one that worked. Love this phone!

Excellent value; replaces an identical phone that we have had for more than 15 years. Ringer is fully adjustable. Very easy to install on the wall (read the simple directions on the simple one-step way to make it a wall phone). Cord is a little short, but for under $10, you cannot beat this phone. No reason to buy a more expensive wall phone. We especially like that the numbers are in the handset, and not on the wall unit on which the handset is held.

I got on Amazon to purchase a home phone because it occured to me that I can tell my child to call 911 in the event of an emergency all day, but that would be useless if he can't find my cell phone to call! I needed a slim phone that was wall mountable without all the extras. I wanted one that didn't rely on AC power for use (in case of an emergency/power outage and also so there wouldn't be another cord hanging). I came across this phone and figured I would give it a shot since the price point is excellent and I doubt we'll be using it much. I read several negative reviews about it being cheap, the wall mount being upside down, the handset falling off, etc... And all I have to say is READ THE DIRECTIONS PEOPLE! There is a tiny part that you need to switch around if you are using it for table/desk setup vs. wall mount that prevents the phone from falling off the receiver. Just take 2 mins & reference the included manual and you'll figure out what to do.

This is a land line phone model which I have used for 10 years now, and I love it. Unlike many of today's phones, it gives you reliable service. It always gives you a dial tone without any hassle, just by picking up the handset from the base. The numbers light up so you can see them easily (although see note in the next paragraph for one quirk), and you can use it even during a power outage, with no batteries ever required. Simple but very effective when your electricity is not working and you need to make phone calls that don't wear out any batteries.

Seems like a nice little basic phone for my 93 year old Mom. No batteries to worry about replacing or charging, which of course means that the numbers aren’t very bright. I didn’t program any phone numbers in the speed dial. Mom can’t seem to relate to the instructions for most phone options, so this one goes back to the basics of a 1970 era. She can relate to this phone better than the seemingly simple VTech phones. The 25 foot cord (extra purchase) seems to give Mom a comforting feeling of familiarity too. No OFF button to hunt for. The cord leads back to where you hang it up. I got a second phone for the bedroom. The base could be a bit heavier. If knocking to off with arthritic hands becomes a problem, I will mount that phone to the wall also. So far, so good. She seems happy with the phones. :-)

I use a landline for my home office and for my podcast recordings. I need a phone that is easy to use, doesn't have the problems with needless static and that is affordable. This one I found online and decided to give a try. I use AT&T for my phone and internet services so I thought it would be a good bet the phone itself would work well. It's easy to use and sounds great. Just what I needed and I haven't had the problem with the cord getting crazy tied up after each use. Definitely serving the purpose.

5 stars! This is the best touch-tone landline desktop landline telephone that I have seen on the market in the past 18 years! I have now purchased at least four of these phones. It is well-designed, well-built, and best of all, it is robust enough and heavy enough that it sits in a stable fashion on a desktop or other surface.Even better, unlike so many of the competing models of desktop touch tone phones, this phone does NOT need any batteries, which are so common on other phones because they are needed to enable al sorts of stupid and unwanted bells and whistles to work.Great phone. Will be buying more.

Phone works perfect. We needed another phone downstairs that would work during a power outage, and it does. I decorated it to be prettier, otherwise it is fine the way it looks sold. I do wish that I could adjust the volume even lower, some people who call are so loud I have to keep the phone away from my ear, and I have the volume control set on the lowest setting.

Nothing beats copper for voice clarity and power outages! This is one of those indestructible relics of last-century POTS technology that I haven't abandoned. This replacement will probably outlast me! There is a plastic tab on the base (under the label) that needs to be slid out and flipped over, to hold the phone on the cradle in the hanging position.

Yeah, roped into a Triple Play deal with Comcast and thought, well, at least when I lose my cell I can call myself to find it. Getting this phone (although I honestly thought one would be a little cheaper) really brought back memories. If you have a useless VOIP line, it does the job and has all the features you'd expect from a cradle phone. Programmable, redial, buttons work well - you can turn the ringer OFF, which is nice when you're assigned a phone number that clearly previously belonged to somebody with a large amount of debt. And, if you get it for any reason: GET IT SO YOU CAN CALL 911 without the ambiguity of using a mobile phone. (And then you can clock whoever is coming after you in the head with it. Try doing THAT with a cell phone.)
