Okay so it’s fine for a decoration, which is what it’s sold as. The size is great. But the amount of magnetic “sand” or whatever is lacking. The one I got as a gift for my brother empties in about 6 seconds. Very, very little filling in it so it looks...lacking. Obviously, he doesn’t plan to use it as an actual timer, but it would be nice to have a fuller look. I would not buy again.

Soothing to watch. Sand lasts approx 32 seconds without base attached and 31 with it. You can't really make any different patterns besides sorta fluffy half sphere, but you get what you see and its still a cool desk prop. The magnet in mine is slightly crooked in the base, but the wood base is smooth with no rough edges and the hourglass looks pretty good.

I really liked this piece. It was well shipped and protected, and for the cheap price I was very pleasantly surprised. I gave it as a gift and the recipient loved it! Very neat to watch. A bit of advice though: don't stick it on a massively strong magnet, like a huge one, because it will crack. I didn't think I would have to tell them this, but just in case you try it too. Buying again.

Neat little hourglass! I was unsure if I should buy it after reading previous reviews about how it was broken upon arrival or broke shortly after opening it, but mine came in one piece and so far has stayed that way! It takes about 35 seconds for the sand to fall, so it isn't a full minute. As the sand falls, it's cool to see it react to the magnet, but when it's all in the bottom it ends up looking like a dome, like in the picture. Overall, I'm satisfied with my magnetic hourglass, and I think it's a nice addition to my desk!
