You get what you pay for. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great first compressor pedal, since it was my first compressor pedal. The only gripe I have about it is that as you turn up the level knob, it gives off a loud buzzing sound. I have it set up before any distortion/OD pedals and after my tuner on my pedal board. I’m going to try and mess around with the order it’s in, but for the time being, the buzzing sound is the only thing I could find wrong with it. Other than that, this is a great pedal.

Excellent. This little guy sounds great. I have been on a spree buying inexpensive pedals. Rowin, Donner, Joyo etc. I've had alot of good luck so far, knock on wood. This guy has a great range of sounds. I play a lead and rhythm style guitar. So I have the sustain all the weigh and the attack about 3 o'clock. Sounds excellent. I can't speak for durability but for now it works. Down the road I will purchase a mid tier compressor, delay and overdrive. Update: Only having this pedal a couple weeks I am sad to say it's acting funny. I have all my pedals on my pedal board with pretty decent AC adapters. At first the pedal sounded good. The attack knob gave me a decent amount of ajustment. However after a couple of weeks it completely died. The knob does nothing. Thank God I had the knob in a favorable position haha. I am gonna have to toss this on the bass pedal board. The one that sits and is happy to have any new buddies joining them. He doesn't get played a ton. It still sounds decent and for $20 it is really a bargain but that is ridiculous. Not even two weeks. I have had no such issues with other cheaper pedals such as Rowin, Donner, Xvive or Behringer.

The construction and quality of the pedal are 5 stars. Very well built. Pedal will defiantly compress anything you plug into it. It will also, even on the lowest possible setting, kill absolutely all dynamics, low end and tone. Not for me. Might be ok for metal guitar players.

Ordered to try out compression on an a budget. The pedal works well. I've heard that it's a copy of the Boss CS-2 and is a Ross/Dynacomp style compressor. It turns out that this style of compressor is really just not my thing. It is a useful pedal and the build quality isn't bad for the money. FYI - I put it first in line before an overdrive that is always "On" and is super responsive, and the Compressor colored my tone a little to much for me, even when "Off."

The killers in the veins of MXR Dyna Comp and Boss CS-2 are small. The only thing I didn't like was that it seemed to over-compress the quieter notes, making them too loud, even in the clearest of the environment. But if you like Dyna Comp and CS-2, you will also like Kokko.
