Q

Will these allow ttl pass through for flash on transceiver on top of camera and control of remote flash through on camera flash as a master unit?

A
  • Yes, they work wonderfully well for both of these uses. You will need an extra piece to sync the flash if on a stand.

These are great for iTTL wireless flash shooting. Price is very reasonable and these are built well. Only complaint is these are a bit large, but manageable. These are much better than IR triggers and is 100% compatible with my Nikon DSLR's and speedlights. Great for off-camera shots and multi-light setups. May buy more in future to expand number of lights.

These are great. Have both the older version and these new version. Both work the same but love these for the recessed buttons and the mounting to the flash holders are with a quick release clamp as on the Nikon flash, not the screw on retainer. Have had these (and the old version) on a shoot using 5 speed lights with 3 using 622n old version and 2 with the 622n II. They were set up using 3 groups, HSS, Ittl. At a distance of 100' from the camera to the flash, the flash units were behind a rock and behind the subject. All fired correctly and with no false / missing triggering. These were firing an (1)SB800, (2) Shanny SN600SN and Yongnuo (2) YN568EX. The master controller was the YN622N-TX. Need a remote trigger? These are the ones to buy. You can also use the 622n to remotely trigger the camera with the 622n-TX. worth the $40 USD ea for the triggers. Even though there are flash units coming out with the radio built in, and these do add another connection point, I will not be moving to the more expensive and less capable (interchangeable) flash units.

These worked out of the box as expected. The problem was that I also purchased the wireless flash trigger which did not work.

This (with a 685 as well) was my first non-Nikon flash setup, and it went amazingly well. Having used CLS before and depending on line of sight, the radio controls are a vast improvement. I have had zero mis-fires, they work every time. Never going back to CLS. The documentation is mediocre, but they are fairly obvious to use. No issues, really, and at a great price point.

Simple to use and so far no failures when combined with YN622N-TX triggers. Also loving the HSS mode.

The hotshoe improvement is much welcomed, as is the ability to flash firmware to the device. I have 4 of the older YN622N's...and they still work just fine as well. As for the "flash lock" implementation, I use this where things are constantly in motion so taking a flash reading each time isn't a big deal...besides I usually shoot full manual control over all the channels.

Very nice purchase. The units work well and are easy to set up so each speedlight is controlled by a separate controller group. I can adjust the speedlight light output of my SB700 and SB910 individually from the TX controller on the camera. You can adjust for Manual Mode or TTL. High recommended.

I love my yongs! I have 8 transceivers now and two transmitters. These two are a new build. I think the functionality is the same as the old ones but the mount lock is updated. It's now a 45 degree twist lock instead of the older screw lock. Never had an issue with my yongs. Only issue is with the transmitters on my D750, but that issue is based on a design flaw on these cameras and has nothing to with the yongs.

These work well enough. However, the manufacturer annoyed rather than delighted by including just one table stand in the package of two transceivers.

I've used their speedlights in the past and have recently needed the upgrade to use them wirelessly. They do the job fantastically and didn't take me too long to learn how to use! Set up is quite easy; put in two AA batteries and ensure that both devices are linked to the same group (ABC) and channel (123).
