No, it is not a con. I've used it several times and it works fine!

this device tests the cable from the server to the wall, not the network card of your device

It is in the battery compartment when delivered and the case it comes with is big enough to store it when you have installed the batteries

Yes, it will test the 3.0 cable, as well as the 2.0

means that the cables are crossed for a point-to-point connection without swicht or o router

I am not sure the question is relevant to the tester. The tester basically tests continuity. You would use it to check the cables tested are the correct ones, not damaged and connected correctly. If you need more you maybe need to be looking at a big bucks unit.

No, it's just a link tester.

You need a BNC to F coax adapter for the tester and a terminator for the other end.

Discrete Product, arrives in the established time it works perfectly even if it tells you only if the connector is bad, it does not tell you where the problem is, convenient and useful case to store it so it does not take dust, excellent value for money I recommend it for use amateur.

What a pos this thing is, first off.. no screen, just a printout. Second thing, LOUD F******* BEEP EVERY TIME YOU TEST IT. No way to turn it off it, only pushbutton on the device, and they've designed it so that you arent given the option to turn the loud f****** beep off.. To turn it off, remove remote tester, 9v out, get a good grip, and rip it apart. (no screws!) Then, on the board, locate the circular buzzer right behind the usb port. I used a very small drill bit and broke the solder joint. Works like a champ now.

This is the second Cat5 / Cat 6 cable tester I have. After almost 20 years of use, the first failed. I saw this and bought it now, so far it has met my expectations. This is a great toolkit. All I have to change is the suitcase: it doesn't have enough space to accommodate other tools / screwdrivers, etc. Therefore, I still use the original suitcase instead of the suitcase that comes with the new tester. Value for money, anyone who is connected to a Cat5 / Cat 6 network cable needs such a device to verify the cable. The split design is ideal for testing long distance cables. Any network engineer should buy this tool.

Apparently (from the photos on the site) it looks like the usual Chinese plasticaccia object but in reality it is not at all. The origin will also be Chinese, but in everyday use it is an excellent and inexpensive object to check cables and wirings both voice and data. I had others that broke or I forgot to turn them off by always discharging the battery. This can't happen!

used to wire the network at home, excellent signaling of the charged battery and auto power off so you avoid errors, allows you to test RJ45 RJ11 cables, USB cables and even coaxial data cables (also indicating impedance), also shows whether a single cable is interrupted or if the cable is shorted or crossed, all at a ridiculous price, the instrument is also equipped with a hinged case.
